‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 3 Ending Explained: Are Joanne and Noah Married, and What Happens to Sasha, Morgan and Esther?
After two seasons of will they or won’t they, Netflix’s ‘Nobody Wants This‘ has finally let its central couple settle into a life together. Created by Erin Foster, the romantic comedy follows Joanne, played by Kristen Bell, and Noah, played by Adam Brody, and the third season picked up with the pair moving in together as Joanne continued her journey toward converting to Judaism.
The earlier seasons had both ended on the same note, with the couple nearly splitting and then kissing. The new episodes aimed to break that cycle, with the show’s co-showrunners saying they wanted to let the pair enjoy settling in after the ups and downs of the previous year. That set the stage for a big finale built around family, faith and a few well-kept secrets.
So how does the season end? The finale, set at a Malibu beach estate during Joanne’s mikvah ceremony, closes with Joanne and Noah getting married. The co-showrunners have confirmed that the pair end the season as husband and wife, even though the wedding happens as an impromptu, on-the-fly decision.
The episode opens at the Malibu estate, where Joanne is preparing for the traditional ceremony marking her conversion. Both families are there, and the day quickly turns chaotic, with a yelling match, spilled secrets and a few sprained ankles along the way.
Then, in the middle of it all, things turn romantic. Joanne and Noah decide to turn the conversion celebration into a beach wedding, and Rabbi Eden, played by Sarah Silverman, agrees to officiate, conveniently keeping a ketubah, the Jewish wedding contract, in the trunk of her car. It is a messy, joyful solution that fits the show’s tone.

The wedding follows an earlier highlight of the season, when Noah planned an elaborate proposal at a Napa vineyard, inspired in part by Foster’s own love story. After so much hesitation in the past, the couple moves from engagement to marriage in a single season, and some viewers may feel that pace is fast.
Still, it fits the idea behind the season. Rather than asking whether Joanne and Noah belong together, the finale shifts the question to what they build next. Joanne completing her conversion alongside the wedding also lets the story close a long-running thread on her own terms.

The siblings’ storylines are just as tangled. Sasha and Morgan slept together during a trip to New York in Episode 7, after which Morgan left and Sasha was left feeling abandoned. In the finale, Esther learns about the hookup, while Morgan learns that Sasha had also been with Esther the day before.
Esther, who said at the end of the second season that she wanted to grow, spends the season exploring life on her own before her feelings for Sasha resurface. By the end, Sasha decides to give his marriage with Esther another try, because the woman he loves is the one he truly wants to be with. Morgan, meanwhile, is last seen icing her ankle on the deck, watching Sasha and Esther’s heated discussion, and she is understandably unhappy. The season also hints that she may actually love him.
Netflix has not yet announced a renewal for another season, so the future is open. The finale ends with plenty of loose ends, including the fallout from the family argument at the Malibu house, the newlywed status of the leads and the unresolved triangle between Sasha, Morgan and Esther.
At the same time, the ending could work as a satisfying conclusion, since the central couple has finally reached the milestone the show was building toward. Either way, the finale leaves viewers with a happier note than either of the previous seasons.
