Patrick Stewart has been a well-known face among Marvel fans since way before he ever made an appearance in the MCU. The renowned actor portrayed Charles Xavier, aka Professor X in the ‘X-Men’ movie franchise and has since enjoyed a cult status among X-Men fans.

The character died numerous times in the films; lastly in his MCU debut in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’ And, despite numerous deaths, there’s still a possibility that we’ll see Patrick Stewart return as Professor X in the future, in some other universe.

Still, Stewart wasn’t too fond of his role – or the filming of the role, to be precise – for ‘Doctor Strange 2.’ You see, the movie was filmed in the midst of a global pandemic, and it was quite challenging to film with all the COVID-19 safety protocols about isolation and prevention of the epidemic.

Speaking on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast with Josh Horowitz, Stewart revealed that he hated the process of filming his scenes for his MCU debut because he was all alone, without other actors around:

“I was alone. In the big scene, each one of the leading actors had the same [solo] experience; they were shot on their own. It was frustrating and disappointing, but that’s how it has been. The last few years have been challenging.”

It must’ve been quite hard to get into your role and your lines without actually interacting with any other actor on set. Still, he gave us a memorable appearance that was unfortunately short-lived, as Wanda wiped the Illuminati out in a heartbeat. That means we’re done with Professor X in the MCU, right? Well, not necessarily.

The concept of a Multiverse always grants us the opportunity for yet another appearance of the famous X-Men leader. And, given his overwhelming connection to Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine over the years, who’s to say that Stewart’s Xavier won’t return with him in ‘Deadpool 3’?

After all, the two of them died together in ‘Logan’ – wouldn’t it be awesome if they returned together in ‘Deadpool 3’ as well? I guess that same thought went through Josh Horowitz’s head, too, as he pointed out and indirectly asked if we’ll see Professor X in the film, saying ‘I’m going to guess that I might see Patrick Stewart in a Deadpool-Wolverine movie.’

Through a big smile, Stewart shared that he, indeed, spoke to Hugh Jackman about it:

“It has come up, there’s been a process. But the last two to three years have been so difficult with the labor problems and the health problems. COVID, you know…”

That may not mean anything – or maybe, it might mean that Stewart was spoken to about a potential ‘Deadpool 3’ reunion with his buddy Logan. Of course, he can’t give us all the answers to avoid potential spoilers, but never say never, guys. Never say never.
