Rumor: Liev Schreiber Will Reportedly Return as Sabretooth in ‘Deadpool 3’
We still remember how, back in 2021, we all anticipated ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and expected all the cameos and special returns. Even though some of them weren’t officially confirmed, the majority of reports turned out to be true back then. Then, in 2022, we all expected ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ to be another cameo-fest, which turned out to be true in one way, but not entirely like in Spider-Man’s case.
You know the saying: history always repeats itself. So now, we are all looking forward to ‘Deadpool 3,’ which will feature some already confirmed special returns, but of course, there are always rumors and reports that there will be many more. How many of those rumors are true? Only time will tell. Until then, another rumor from a known leaker has surfaced on the internet, teasing one more special return for the upcoming ‘Deadpool’ threequel.
The ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ star is rumored to return in ‘Deadpool 3’.
According to known leaker DanielRPK (via X-Men Updates), Liev Schreiber is set to reprise the role of Victor Creed, aka Sabretooth, in the upcoming ‘Deadpool’ threequel. The role is reportedly set to be bigger than a mere cameo, but it won’t be a big or crucial role, regardless.
Schreiber played Victor Creed, the son of Thomas Logan, James Howlett/Wolverine’s biological father, in 2009’s ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine.’ After young James killed Thomas, he escaped, and Victor followed him. As grown men, the two fought together as Canadian mercenaries in the American Civil War, World War I, World War II, and the Vietnam War before they both joined William Stryker Team X.
Although he turned out to be the supporting antagonist in the movie, Logan and Victor worked together again to defeat their old teammate Wade Wilson, who Stryker turned into Weapon XI. However, the events of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ and the post-credit scene of ‘Deadpool 2’ erased that mocked version of Wade from the timeline.
‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ was heavily criticized for its story, screenplay, pacing, and visual effects. Schreiber portrayed Sabretooth only in that one movie, but there’s a chance we’ll see him again in this role.
‘Deadpool 3’ will officially feature the return of the majority of ‘Deadpool 2’ cast, as well as the return of Hugh Jackman as the Wolverine and Jennifer Garner as Elektra from 2003’s ‘Daredevil. ‘
Directed by Shawn Levy, ‘Deadpool 3’ is currently set to be released in May 2024. However, with the production currently on hold, it’s getting hard to believe the movie will be ready for release until then.
Are you looking forward to ‘Deadpool 3’? Would you like to see Liev Schreiber as Victor Creed/Sabretooth again? Let us know in the comments.
