‘What If…?’ was a breath of fresh air in the MCU; despite the first season of the show receiving a somewhat mixed reception from fans, it was successful enough to warrant additional seasons and expand the multiverse.

Season 2 was released in a somewhat unconventional manner over the course of nine days; a single episode was released, like a gift for fans to unwrap over the holiday season. Long before Season 2 was even released, we knew that Season 3 was in development. However, it’s important to note that Season 3 is rumored to be the show’s last, and according to some reports, it might even be released in 2024. Brad Winderbaum recently discussed the potential characters that might appear in the third season, he claims that they have started pushing the boundaries a little bit more and that they’ve started playing around with the concept of Multiverse a bit more.

For months now rumors have been circling that Storm will make an appearance in ‘What If…?’ Season 3, but there are also rumors that she will debut in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ In any case, according to CanWeGetSomeToast, a notable scooper and leaker, in the show, Storm will wield one of the most notable weapons in Marvel Comics, Mjolnir.

It’s unclear whether Mjolnir will appear in the episode or the scooper refers to Storm’s own hammer, Stormcaster as Mjolnir. In any case, this won’t be the first time that the iconic hammer is used in the show. Most recently, Mjolnir was manipulated by Kahhori in her fight against Demonic Doctor Strange.

As I’ve already mentioned this won’t be Storm’s first meeting with the hammer, she was at one point the Goddes of Thunder in her own name via a hammer crafted by Loki. Stormcaster was given to Ororo Munroe, granting her divine power similar to Thor which she used quite frequently especially when she lost her own powers. She gave up on it upon discovering Loki’s manipulation but later reclaimed it from Thor. After using it to defeat the god Uovu, the hammer fulfilled its purpose and turned to dust.
