Ryan Reynolds’ career rose to entirely new heights after 2016 when he started playing the comic-accurate Deadpool. Even he would like to forget that first attempt to adapt the character in 2009’s ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine,’ as well as that badly-received ‘Green Lantern’ movie in which he played Hal Jordan. Thankfully, Deadpool fixed the timeline in the post-credit scene of ‘Deadpool 2’ and erased those two superhero roles Reynolds previously played from existence, or we like to pretend that he did, that is.

Reynolds played a lot of other roles in the last few years, but basically, every role of his now is very Deadpool-ish, only without a red spandex and a bit more family-friendly in some cases. However, that Deadpool charm is what makes Reynolds so beloved and popular among his fans, and everyone is excited to see more of his punchlines, great deliveries, and fourth-wall-breaking scenes in the upcoming ‘Deadpool 3.’ Recently, we wrote about a rumor that claims ‘Deadpool 3’ will introduce Kidpool, a variant of Wade Wilson from Earth-10330 in the source material, and that story just got another chapter.

While ‘Deadpool 3’ was still in early development and we all waited for the official announcement, Ryan Reynolds starred in 2022’s ‘The Adam Project,’ a Netflix movie in which his character, a time-traveling pilot named Adam, meets his younger, 12-year-old self, who was played by Walker Scobell.

This started a theory that Scobell would now be a perfect cast for Kidpool in ‘Deadpool 3,’ and Reynolds himself recently liked a post about that theory, as Deadpool Updates recently found out. What’s even more interesting is that Shawn Levy, who directed ‘The Adam Project,’ is also directing ‘Deadpool 3,’ which means that the upcoming threequel might be a great reunion for Reynolds, Levy, and Scobell to work again on the Marvel movie.

Although the plot is still officially kept under wraps, many rumors and reports are saying that ‘Deadpool 3’ will deal with the Multiverse, which actually makes plenty of sense since this movie will bring Deadpool to the Marvel Cinematic Universe but will also feature many returning faces from Fox’s ‘X-Men’ movie series, including the one and only Hugh Jackman as the Wolverine. Considering that in the source material, Kidpool was recruited by Deadpool into the Deadpool Corps to save the Multiverse, the picture of the movie’s idea is becoming more and more clear.

‘Deadpool 3’ will also see the return of Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Stefan Kapičić, Shioli Kutsuna, and Rob Delaney. Zazie Beetz and Josh Brolin will not return as Domino and Cable, but Jennifer Garner will reprise the role of Elektra, which she played in 2003’s ‘Daredevil’ movie starring Ben Affleck and 2005’s spin-off movie ‘Elektra.’

Directed by Shawn Levy, ‘Deadpool 3’ is scheduled to be released on May 3, 2024. At least for now.
