Show Focusing on Captain Britain Reportedly in Development

MCU has a lot of projects currently in development, despite ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ being the only movie to be released in 2024. Iger announced a while back that they are going to focus on quality over quantity but if recent rumors are true, that may not be the case since plenty of projects are rumored to be in development currently.

One of those projects is a show focusing on Captain Britain, which is possibly a project that replaced the rumored MI13 show.

Captain Britain in the MCU is nothing new, as the character was rumored to join the MCU as early as 2018. For those unfamiliar, Captain Britain, also known as Brian Braddock, is more than just a British “version of Captain America“. He was introduced in 1976 and has magical powers given by Merlyn, making him a mix of superhero and mystical guardian. His stories often involve magical realms, which could add an interesting dimension to the MCU.

Recently, Henry Cavill stated that he would love to play Captain Britain in the MCU, which fans interpreted as him basically confirming that if such a project does get to be developed, Cavill is a sure cast. We know that Cavill has been rumored to appear in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ as a Wolverine variant, but that same rumor claimed that this doesn’t disqualify him from being cast in the MCU in some different role.

But, as always, this is just a rumor and nothing has been officially confirmed, especially as Brad Winderbaum recently commented that MCU has changed its strategy, and just because something is being developed, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to get to the production stage and be released.
