For nearly 3 decades, ‘South Park‘ has made a sport of turning whatever the internet is obsessed with this week into a half hour of chaos. Slang, trends and outrage cycles all end up in Colorado sooner or later, and the show rarely waits for the cultural dust to settle.

This season, the show has also made headlines for its own identity. After winning the Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program, Trey Parker and Matt Stone announced the series was changing its name, “Inspired by the bravery and patriotism of Apple and Google.” It was a pointed dig at the renaming of places like the Gulf of Mexico, and the town, theme song and promotional material now all say ‘South America’.

Now Comedy Central has released a new teaser for the next episode, ‘You Like That On Your Face’, which airs Wednesday, October 14. The official synopsis reads that when aura battles take over South America, Kyle tries to help his little brother not be cringe. The short clip shows Kyle in the schoolyard holding a football while Cartman sits in the snow nearby.

The brothers don’t headline episodes often, and fans have noticed. Reactions to the teaser have centered on delight that a Kyle and Ike story is finally back after so long. Ike is Kyle’s adopted Canadian little brother, and the pairing has produced some of the show’s most surprisingly sincere moments.

There is a long tradition here. In the season 18 finale ‘#HappyHolograms’, Kyle apologizes to Ike for acting like a grandpa and accepts that his brother will develop his own generational interests. In season 26’s ‘The Worldwide Privacy Tour’, Kyle lets Ike keep rewatching the Queen’s funeral, deciding he doesn’t care what his friends think. The aura battle story looks set to continue that pattern of Kyle trying, and probably failing, to keep up with what younger kids find cool.

‘South Park’ Season 29 Episode 3 Release Date, Time, Preview and Where to Watch

The season premiered on September 16 with ‘South American Biker Gangs’, in which Cartman, Stan, Kyle and Kenny fall in love with e-bikes while Randy and a group of cyclists declare war on them. It introduced a new theme song celebrating the name change, and the episode drew 4.2 million viewers in 3 days across Comedy Central and Paramount+. IGN gave it an 8/10.

The second episode, ‘Billionaire Weenietown’, followed on September 30 and centered on Butters, who is furious about the data centers that billionaires are building in his backyard. A reviewer noted that seeing a normally sweet character so outraged made the episode even funnier. Together, the first 2 episodes have shown the season leaning into current events.

The new episode premieres Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central. It streams the next day on Paramount+ in the US, Canada and Australia, and the same day in the UK. After this one, the season has 3 episodes left, arriving on October 28, November 11 and November 25, which is the finale.

The show’s momentum helps explain why it can pivot so easily. The Emmy was its fifth in the animated program category, and it was the number 1 show on cable in 2025 among adults 18 to 49. A series that can skewer billionaires one week and a teenage slang craze the next keeps audiences guessing about where the next joke will land.

Whether the episode treats the aura battle as a harmless fad or a bigger comment on how kids compete online, fans can expect Kyle’s frustration to be the engine of the story. It’s a familiar recipe for the show, but one that has rarely gotten old.

What are you most excited to see in the new episode?
