Just six days into its release, the film crossed $1 billion worldwide, making it the second-fastest movie ever to reach that milestone behind only ‘Avengers: Endgame’, which got there in five days back in 2019. That combination of speed and scale has already made ‘Brand New Day’ the highest-grossing movie of 2026 worldwide, a title it claimed in just seven days of release.

Passing ‘Wakanda Forever’ and ‘Age of Ultron’ domestically places ‘Brand New Day’ solidly among the top tier of Marvel’s all-time domestic earners, a group previously dominated almost entirely by the studio’s biggest ensemble Avengers events. Both films had long stood as respectable mid-tier entries in the MCU’s domestic hierarchy, with ‘Age of Ultron’ finishing as the sixth-highest grossing Marvel movie domestically and ‘Wakanda Forever’ settling in just behind it.

For a standalone Spider-Man film to blow past both movies within its first week in theaters underscores just how significant this cultural moment has become for the franchise. Sony’s motion picture group chair Tom Rothman celebrated the film’s historic run in a statement following its opening weekend, reflecting on the scale of what the film had already accomplished before its numbers even continued climbing in the days that followed.

With the film’s total still climbing daily and no signs of major competition slowing its momentum, ‘Brand New Day’ looks poised to keep rewriting Marvel’s box office record books well into its second and third weekends.
