The Spider-Man world may be getting bigger very soon. New comments from Oren Uziel suggest that more projects are already in development, even if they have not been officially announced yet.

Uziel, who is working on the upcoming Spider-Noir series, shared this update during an interview with SFX Magazine. He made it clear that his focus is on his current show, but he is aware of other Spider-Man stories being worked on behind the scenes.

“I’m focused on Spider-Noir, but I know there are others in the works,” he said. “I’ve talked a bit to the people working on them and I think they are very exciting. They’re following a little bit of that same formula, that same idea of taking a genre and elevating it by putting a Spider-variant into it. It opens up a whole new world, and it’s just an extremely exciting opportunity.”

He did not name any specific projects, but there are already a few that have been talked about before. One of them is a Spider-Punk project, which has been linked to Daniel Kaluuya. There are also ongoing rumors about a Spider-Gwen movie being developed by Sony. It is not confirmed if these are the ones Uziel meant.

The idea behind these projects seems simple. Each one would take a different version of Spider-Man and place them in a unique setting or style. This is similar to what Spider-Noir is doing.

The show itself follows a darker version of the character. Nicolas Cage plays the lead role as an older private investigator who once lived as a superhero. The story focuses on his past and the chance to become a hero again.

Even though the character is based on earlier versions from comics and animation, Uziel explained that this version is not exactly the same.

“The character in the show is not the same as the character from both the comics and the animated movie,” he said. “A big part of it was I have seen the high-school story of Peter Parker many times. It’s been done really well and it’s continuing to be done really well. And then Phil and Chris did the Miles Morales version. For me, it was a way to tell our own take.”

The series is part of Sony’s larger Spider-Man universe and includes producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. It is set in a different timeline and focuses on a more grounded and serious tone.

Spider-Noir is set to release in May. It will first premiere in the United States before becoming available worldwide shortly after. The show will have eight episodes and will also offer both black-and-white and color versions.

Production on the series has already finished, with filming taking place in Los Angeles between 2024 and 2025. With the show nearly ready, attention is now turning to what comes next.

This is a smart move. The Spider-Man story has been told many times, so trying new versions and settings makes sense. It keeps things fresh and gives fans something different to enjoy. If done right, these spin-offs could be just as popular as the main films. What do you think about more Spider-Man variants getting their own projects? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
