‘Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentōshō’ Reveals Several New Cast Members for Future Episodes

We have already written about the anime adaptation of the Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentōshō novel series by Moto’o Nakanishi. The fantasy series has been enjoying solid success and the anime was announced back in 2021.

But, it wasn’t until March 31, 2025 that the anime adaptation of Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentōshō actually premiered after almost four years of waiting. And while the fans finally got their moment, it was still an unusually long waiting period.

Now that the anime is finally here, though, we can concentrate on the good news and we can confirm that the producers have revealed a series of new cast members who will be appearing starting with Episode 2.

The new cast members include Saya Aizawa as Natsu, Hiromu Mineta as Zenji, Masaki Aizawa as Jūzō, Yōji Ueda as Kihei restaurant owner, Ai Kayano as Ofū, Seiichirō Yamashita as Naotsugu Miura, Hitomi Nabatame as Yotaka, and Kōji Yusa as Somegorō Akitsu.

The second episode will debut on April 8, 2025. Until then, here is a brief synopsis that might get you interested in the show:

In the Edo era, young Jinta and his sister must flee their home, finding refuge in a mountain village. Years later, Jinta has grown into a skilled swordsman, sworn to protect the priestess of the village shrine. Charged with slaying a demon that threatens the shrine, Jinta confronts the malevolent creature in the forest, only to learn a shocking truth. The demon speaks of events one hundred and seventy years hence, when Jinta must confront the demon in the future. Thus begins an epic fantasy journey that spans multiple eras as Jinta hunts a demon through time and must come to terms with his own dark nature.
