Gorr the God Butcher

Gorr the God Butcher is a fictional character that appears in Marvel Comics and was created by Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic. Gorr debuted in Thor: God of Thunder #2 in 2013.

He was born in a harsh and desolate world where he witnessed the death of his family due to the lack of intervention from the gods. Gorr became convinced that the gods were selfish and uncaring and dedicated his life to killing them all.

Gorr possesses superhuman strength and durability, as well as the ability to absorb and manipulate the life force of other beings. He wields a weapon called All-Black, the Necrosword, made from the living darkness of the universe and capable of cutting through almost anything, including the armor of Asgardian gods.

Gorr has come into conflict with various Marvel Comics characters, but his most notable enemy is Thor. In the “God of Thunder” storyline, Gorr travels through time, killing gods from various eras, including a young Thor from the past and the older, one-armed Thor from the future. The storyline explores themes of faith, mortality, and the nature of gods.
