SofĂ­a Vergara is a Colombian-American actress, television personality, and businesswoman known for her work in both Spanish- and English-language entertainment. Born in 1972, she rose to fame in the late 1990s while co-hosting shows on Univision before moving into Hollywood films and television.

She is best known for playing Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on the hit sitcom Modern Family (2009–2020), a role that made her one of the most recognizable TV stars in the world and led to multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. More recently, she starred as Griselda Blanco in the Netflix miniseries Griselda (2024).

Vergara has appeared in several films, including Four Brothers, Chef, Machete Kills, and Hot Pursuit, and has also done voice work in animated movies such as Happy Feet Two, The Emoji Movie, and Despicable Me 4. Alongside acting, she has built a strong career as a judge on America’s Got Talent since 2020.

Outside of entertainment, she is a successful businesswoman, launching fashion and fragrance lines and working as a brand ambassador for major companies. Today, she is considered one of the highest-paid actresses in the United States and remains a major figure in global pop culture.
