Whalefall (film)

Whalefall is an upcoming survival thriller directed by Brian Duffield and based on Daniel Kraus’ bestselling 2023 novel of the same name. The film stars Austin Abrams as Jay Gardiner, a scuba diver who is swallowed alive by a sperm whale while searching for the remains of his father, played by Josh Brolin. Trapped inside the whale with limited oxygen, Jay has only about an hour to find a way out and survive. The movie also stars Elisabeth Shue, John Ortiz, Jane Levy, and Emily Rudd, and is set for a theatrical release on October 16, 2026.
