Taylor Swift Confirmed Not To Appear in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’
‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is the hottest upcoming MCU release, for a few good reasons. The movie is rumored to include numerous cameos & variants, it’s Deadpool’s first foray into the MCU, and it’s the movie that managed to pull Hugh Jackman out of his Wolverine retirement. It’s also rumored to lead into ‘Secret Wars’ but we’re going to take this with a grain of salt.
Among those mentioned cameos & variants, is Taylor Swift appearing in the movie as Dazzler. This is one of the most persistent rumors, being traced back at least a year ago to notable scoopers and leakers. It’s especially convincing when you take into account that Reynolds is a huge fan of Swift, and his better half Blake Lively is good friends with the artist.
There were plenty of possible hints that Swift would appear either as Dazzler or Lady Deadpool, a female variant of Deadpool, some through songs, and some rumors were fueled by Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds himself, by wearing friendship bracelets that sort of became synonymous to Swifts’ latest tour.
At some point, even Shawn Levy, the director of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ avoided addressing the rumors directly, but alas speculations have come to an end since Entertainment Weekly managed to confirm that Swift will not be appearing in the latest ‘Deadpool’ installment.
No explanation has been given, and I’m not sure one was even necessary. We still have more than 20 other cameos variants to look forward to, some are rumored and some are confirmed, but at least the list is smaller.
Recently, a teaser for the movie was released in honor of Best Friends Day, featuring a character that appears to be Lady Deadpool, since Swift is ruled out as the possible actress behind that pair of legs, we can only begin to speculate who is it exactly. The most dominant rumor currently is that it’s Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively.
