‘The Terminal List’ Season 2 Trailer Sends Chris Pratt on a Globe-Trotting Redemption Mission

Chris Pratt has built a career bouncing between blockbuster comedy and grounded action work, but few roles have resonated with audiences quite like his turn as a grieving Navy SEAL uncovering a deadly conspiracy. When ‘The Terminal List’ first premiered in 2022, it became one of Prime Video’s biggest launches, eventually expanding into the prequel spinoff ‘The Terminal List: Dark Wolf.’

Nearly four years later, fans have been waiting patiently for James Reece’s story to continue, and that wait is finally coming to an end. Prime Video has just dropped the first full trailer for ‘The Terminal List‘ Season 2, giving audiences their clearest look yet at where Reece’s journey heads next.

All eight episodes of the new season will premiere October 21, exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Adapted from Jack Carr’s second novel in the series, ‘True Believer,’ the season follows Reece on what’s being described as a journey of violent redemption as he searches for new purpose after finishing the revenge mission that defined the show’s first season.

Where Season 1 played out largely as a tightly focused psychological revenge story, Season 2 expands significantly in scope. According to Prime Video’s official synopsis, Reece’s new mission takes him across the Indian Ocean, Southern and Northern Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, uncovering a sprawling conspiracy that reaches from Moscow to Langley and ties directly into his own family’s history.

That globe-trotting structure marks a deliberate shift for the series, transforming it from a contained thriller into a full-scale espionage saga. Central to that new mission is Reece’s target, Mohammed Farooq, played by Dar Salim, a character previously introduced in ‘The Terminal List: Dark Wolf,’ whose methods of carrying out attacks reportedly feel unsettlingly familiar to Reece.

Tom Hopper returns as Raife Hastings, Constance Wu reprises her role as Katie Buranek, and Luke Hemsworth is back as Jules Landry, joined by Gabriel Luna as new character Freddy Strain. The expanded cast also welcomes Costa Ronin, Olga Kurylenko, Yul Vazquez, Martin Sensmeier, Arnold Vosloo, Jeremy Bobb, and Shiraz Tzarfati into the fold for the new season.

Behind the camera, David DiGilio returns as writer, showrunner, and executive producer, with Pratt continuing to executive produce alongside author Jack Carr through his Indivisible Productions banner. Antoine Fuqua, who directed the series’ original pilot, also returns as an executive producer through Fuqua Films alongside Kat Samick, with former Army Ranger Max Adams and former Navy SEAL Jared Shaw rounding out the producing team.

Reflecting on what the new season means to him, Pratt described the project in deeply personal terms. “This season is a love letter to the special operations community,” he said in a statement shared via Collider. “I’m incredibly proud of the journey we went on and what we were able to put on screen. It was a monumental effort by a lot of people over the course of many years, and I think you can feel that commitment in every frame.”

That sentiment tracks with how the franchise has positioned itself from the start, leaning heavily on technical authenticity and firsthand military expertise woven throughout its writing and production process. Production on Season 2 wrapped in Toronto back in October, with the season fully completing post-production in March.

The renewed buzz around the series has even sparked some playful speculation from Pratt himself about future casting possibilities. Speaking on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, Pratt admitted he’d genuinely love to incorporate his father-in-law, Arnold Schwarzenegger, into the franchise at some point, hinting there’s a specific character from Carr’s books he could see Schwarzenegger playing, though he clarified the two haven’t discussed the idea directly yet.

With the trailer now setting the stage for Reece’s most expansive mission yet and a release date locked in for next month, anticipation for ‘The Terminal List’ Season 2 has clearly reached a fever pitch among fans who’ve waited years for this continuation.
