According to new promotional material shown by AMC, Regal, Cinemark, and other theater chains, fans are getting a first look at collectible popcorn buckets and drink cups tied to DC Studios’ upcoming film Supergirl.

One of the main items revealed is a Lobo-themed bike popcorn bucket, which has quickly drawn attention online because of its unusual design and strong connection to the film’s marketing push.

These collectibles are part of a wider merchandising rollout ahead of the film’s release.

Supergirl is the next big feature from DC Studios and will be released by Warner Bros. Pictures. The film stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, also known as Supergirl. She plays a dual role in the story, focusing on both her Kryptonian identity and her human experiences. The cast also includes Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa.

The film is directed by Craig Gillespie, with a screenplay by Ana Nogueira. It is produced by DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran. The production team also includes several experienced industry names working behind the scenes in cinematography, editing, costume design, and visual effects.

In terms of story, Supergirl follows Kara Zor-El as she is pulled into a dangerous interstellar journey after a violent event changes her life. She teams up with unexpected allies while seeking revenge and justice across the galaxy. The film is described as a mix of personal growth and space adventure, with a darker emotional tone compared to earlier Supergirl appearances.

The project is part of the new DC Universe reboot plan, known as Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. It replaces earlier development plans from the former DC Extended Universe, where Supergirl was previously introduced in The Flash (2023), played by Sasha Calle.

The idea for a standalone Supergirl film was first discussed in 2018. After changes in leadership at DC Studios in 2022, the project was reworked into a new version based on the comic series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. Milly Alcock was cast in early 2024, and Craig Gillespie joined as director later that year.

Filming took place between January and May 2025 in England and Scotland, including Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden and several on-location shoots.

The movie is scheduled for release on June 26, in the United States and will also open in international markets starting June 24. It will be released in both standard cinemas and IMAX.

As the release date approaches, promotional items like the Lobo bike popcorn bucket are part of a wider effort to build hype and give fans early visual teases from the world of Supergirl.
