Tom Holland and a Glowing, Very Pregnant Anne Hathaway Share a Sweet Moment at The Odyssey Premiere
Movie premieres tend to be a blur of flashing cameras and quick poses, but every so often, a single photo cuts through the noise and captures something genuinely warm. That is exactly what happened Monday night in London, where Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey‘ brought its sprawling cast together for the film’s world premiere.
Among the many pairings on the carpet, one moment stood out for its sheer tenderness. Tom Holland was photographed wrapping his arms around Anne Hathaway, the two of them laughing together against a backdrop designed to evoke the film’s oceanic setting, their onscreen family bond clearly spilling over into real-life affection.
That warmth carries extra weight given what Hathaway revealed just weeks earlier. The actress announced in June that she is expecting her third child, and she showed up to the London premiere cradling her baby bump in a strapless baby blue Dior gown, using the red carpet moment to celebrate both the film and her growing family at once.
Hathaway’s gown for the night featured an empire waist that was softly pleated from top to hem, finished with Bvlgari jewels, and included a blue floral detail at the waistline tailored specifically to flatter this stage of her pregnancy. Photographers caught her mid laugh more than once throughout the evening, one hand resting gently on her bump as she posed alongside her castmates.
Hathaway shared her pregnancy news on Instagram in a short video set to Barbara Lewis’ “Baby, I’m Yours,” walking into frame in a flowing white gown before revealing her bump with a smile and captioning the post simply, “x Baby, I’m yours x.” The actress and her husband Adam Shulman, married since 2012, are already parents to two sons.
The announcement arrived in the middle of one of Hathaway’s busiest years yet, with the release of ‘Mother Mary’ and ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ already behind her and ‘The Odyssey’ and ‘The End of Oak Street’ still ahead. She has since turned much of her press tour into an unofficial maternity fashion showcase, cycling through looks that range from bold red ensembles to relaxed all black outfits before landing on the standout Dior gown for the London premiere itself.
In Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s epic, Hathaway plays Penelope, the queen of Ithaca who holds her kingdom together while Odysseus, played by Matt Damon, makes his long and perilous journey home from the Trojan War. Holland plays Telemachus, Penelope and Odysseus’ son, a role that places him directly alongside Hathaway for much of the story’s emotional core.
That family dynamic clearly translated off-camera as well, with the embrace between the two actors becoming one of the most shared images from the entire premiere. The moment joined a night full of standout appearances from the film’s star-studded cast, including Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o, and Robert Pattinson, all gathered ahead of the film’s release.
‘The Odyssey’ opens in theaters on July 17, giving audiences their first chance to see the family dynamics that clearly extend well beyond the screen.
