Tom Holland was rushed to the hospital last Friday after a stunt went wrong on the set of the upcoming Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

According to reports, the 29-year-old actor hit his head during a fall and suffered a mild concussion on September 19.

A woman, thought to be a stunt double, was also reportedly taken to the hospital. A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service confirmed to The Sun, “We were called at 10.30am on Friday to attend to a patient who had sustained an injury at Leavesden Studios in Watford. An ambulance was sent to the scene, and the patient was transported to hospital for further care,” as reported by Mirror US.

Holland’s father, Dominic, spoke about the incident at a charity dinner, saying his son would be taking a break from filming for a while.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the fourth Spider-Man film starring Holland. The movie is co-produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios and will be distributed by Sony Pictures. It is scheduled to release in the United States on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase Six of the MCU.

The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, with a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The cast includes Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, along with Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Mando, and Tramell Tillman.

Filming began on August 3, in Glasgow, Scotland, under the working title Blue Oasis. Principal photography is happening on location in Glasgow and at Pinewood Studios in England. The Jackie Chan Stunt Team is coordinating the fight sequences. Holland was excited to return to on-location shooting, similar to how Spider-Man: Homecoming was filmed, after previous films were mostly shot on soundstages due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Set photos from Glasgow have shown armored vehicles with red demon logos, which some media outlets have speculated may reference the comics villain Mister Negative. Other locations, such as Brookwood Cemetery in Surrey, England, were also used for filming. Production is set to continue in Basingstoke, England, in late September and early October.

Holland’s mild concussion means he will miss a few days of shooting, but sources say he is expected to recover fully.
