Tom Holland Reveals What’s His Favorite Spider-Man Movie

Playing widely popular superheroes has always been a privilege for certain actors. Some of us have grown up watching Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in their respective Spider-Man franchises, and we still have those movies in our memory, but the proof that the Spider-Man brand will hardly ever fade is that Tom Holland also delivered us a truly great Spider-Man incarnation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for both new and old Spider-fans to enjoy. And let’s not forget the widely acclaimed ‘Spider-Verse’ franchise that just spawned its second installment.

Holland’s latest Spider-Man movie was released in 2021, and it became not only the highest-grossing Spider-Man movie ever made but one of the highest-grossing movies of all time in general. While we know Spider-Man’s MCU path will eventually continue in the untitled fourth installment, which is currently in development, and most likely in some of the crossover movies that the MCU fans are expecting. But until all that happens, Holland has time to focus on some other projects, including ‘The Crowded Room,’ a new series set to premiere on Apple TV+ on June 9.

The Spider-Man star reveals his favorite Spider-Man movie!

Tom Holland recently provided an update on the development of the upcoming ‘Spider-Man 4’ that Sony and Marvel Studios are currently developing. Both he and the producer Amy Pascal said that the project is in the very early stages of development, but it’s currently on hold due to the ongoing WGA strike that also paused many other productions in Hollywood, including ‘Blade’ and several other Marvel projects.

According to The Associated Press (via Discussing Film), Tom Holland recently shared that his favorite Spider-Man movie is ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,’ the original movie of the ‘Spider-Verse’ franchise that just spawned a second installment ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.’ Holland shared his excitement for the sequel as well.

“I’m excited for the second one. I’m sure it will live up to every expectation, and I can’t wait to see it.”

The 27-year-old actor started his career in the early 2010s and rose to worldwide prominence in 2016 when he debuted as Spider-Man in ‘Captain America: Civil War.’ Since then, he has starred in two Avengers movies and his own Spider-Man trilogy. According to some sources, Holland has already signed for one more ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy, but what we know officially is that only ‘Spider-Man 4’ is currently in development.

‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ continues the story of Miles Morales/Spider-Man from the original movie. Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman returns to his universe to recruit him for another adventure in which he’ll meet all kinds of Spider-people and the imminent threat that’s arriving. Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ is now playing in theaters worldwide.
