Zendaya Just Delivered Her Most Show-Stopping Look Yet at the Paris Premiere of ‘The Odyssey’
Christopher Nolan’s next big cinematic swing has officially kicked off its international rollout, and the fashion moments have been just as talked about as the film itself. ‘The Odyssey‘ has been making its way through a whirlwind press tour across multiple cities, with its star-studded cast turning every red carpet stop into an event of its own.
Based on Homer’s epic poem, the film follows Odysseus, played by Matt Damon, on his long and perilous journey home after the Trojan War, and it boasts one of the most stacked ensembles of the year. The cast includes Zendaya, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, and John Leguizamo, with Nolan directing from behind the camera once again.
At the film’s Paris premiere on July 8, held at Le Grand Rex, Zendaya arrived in a custom Louis Vuitton gown that immediately became the talking point of the night. The look was a long, cut-open white dress paired with a matching cropped bolero featuring frilled lace detail, finished off with white satin pumps and jewelry from Messika.
Louis Vuitton described the design as a showcase of craftsmanship and innovation, noting that the gown took more than 800 hours to create and featured a two tone white palette along with the brand’s signature ruffled lace technique. The label also emphasized the level of detail poured into the piece, calling out its handcrafted elements as central to the overall design.
What made the choice especially notable is the contrast it struck with Zendaya’s character in the film, since she plays Athena, the goddess of war. Rather than leaning into armor or anything overtly battle themed, the actress opted for a softer, almost bridal silhouette, a decision that has had fashion writers debating whether the romantic gown fits the mythology or deliberately subverts it.
The Paris stop is only the latest in a run of striking looks Zendaya has worn throughout the film’s global press tour, each one more theatrical than the last. Stylist Law Roach has reportedly leaned into a full method dressing approach for this cycle, dressing Zendaya in custom Jacquemus for the London leg of the tour, followed by a Schiaparelli Couture look pulled fresh from the label’s Fall 2026 runway show, and a Givenchy design by Alexander McQueen that nodded to her past ‘Spider-Man’ press tour styling.
That kind of thematic dressing has become something of a signature move for Zendaya over the years, with past press tours for films like ‘Dune’ and ‘Challengers’ following a similar pattern of red carpet looks that echo the world of whatever project she is promoting. For ‘The Odyssey’, that has translated into an ongoing rotation of Greek inspired silhouettes, including breastplate style bodices and draped, goddess adjacent gowns.
She was far from alone in embracing that aesthetic in Paris. Co-stars Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, and Charlize Theron all leaned into similarly mythology-inspired looks throughout the premiere circuit, turning the film’s various stops in London and Paris into a showcase of Greek-influenced high fashion from the entire ensemble.

With ‘The Odyssey’ continuing to roll out across international markets ahead of its theatrical release, it is safe to expect the fashion moments to keep coming just as fast as the film’s own marketing push. Between Nolan’s directorial pedigree and a cast this stacked, both the movie and its red carpet tour have already generated no shortage of buzz heading into release.
