Zoë Kravitz and Sadie Sink Team Up for Netflix’s New Interactive Horror Game ‘Unhinged’
Netflix is bringing a new kind of horror experience to its games lineup with ‘Unhinged’, an interactive thriller that puts players directly inside a terrifying night of survival. The game stars Zoë Kravitz, Sadie Sink, and Troy Baker, and it is designed to blur the line between watching a story and actually being part of it.
Developed by Netflix’s Night School Studio, the team behind ‘Oxenfree’ and ‘Oxenfree II: Lost Signals’, ‘Unhinged’ follows Ava, a woman trapped inside her apartment building during a powerful hurricane. What begins as a simple blackout quickly turns into a nightmare when Ava realizes something dangerous may be hiding inside the building with her.
According to Netflix Tudum, the official source behind the game’s announcement, players will experience the story through Ava’s perspective while using their own phone as a controller. The game is built around creating a more personal horror experience, where every movement and decision feels connected to the character’s struggle to survive.
In ‘Unhinged’, Ava’s only connection to the outside world is her best friend Claire, who contacts her during the storm. Claire is voiced by Sadie Sink, while Zoë Kravitz provides the voice of Ava. Troy Baker also joins the cast as Ben, the building’s super, adding another familiar voice to the tense mystery.
The story starts with Ava trapped by a Category 5 hurricane, but the weather is only part of the danger. The apartment building becomes increasingly unsettling as locked doors, strange noises, and signs that someone else is nearby turn her home into a place she cannot trust.
Netflix describes the game as an immersive thriller where players are not just watching the action happen. Instead, their phone becomes an important part of the experience. Players use it to control Ava’s flashlight, receive calls and messages, and interact with the environment around her.

The game also gives players different ways to experience the story. Those who want to focus on the mystery can choose Story Mode, which removes time limits and allows them to explore without worrying about dying. Players looking for a bigger challenge can try Standard Mode, where quick decisions are needed to survive dangerous moments.
One of the biggest features of ‘Unhinged’ is how it uses real-world phone functions to increase the tension. When Ava receives a call or message, the player’s own phone will ring, vibrate, and play audio through the device, making the experience feel closer to a real emergency.
The project also brings together several talented creators. Night School Studio developed the game, while composer Jason Hill, known for his work on ‘Mindhunter’ and ‘Gone Girl’, created the music. Sound designer Ren Klyce, whose credits include ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’, also worked on the audio side of the project.
Netflix says ‘Unhinged’ will be available on June 30 exclusively through Netflix Games. Players will only need a Netflix account, a compatible device, and their phone to step into Ava’s terrifying night.
With Hollywood stars, a horror story, and a gameplay style that mixes television with interactive entertainment, ‘Unhinged’ could mark another step in Netflix’s push to make games a bigger part of its platform. Fans will soon find out whether this new approach can deliver the same suspense as a traditional horror movie.
