The first teaser for The Carpenter’s Son has been released, giving audiences their first glimpse at Nicolas Cage, FKA Twigs, Noah Jupe, and Souheila Yacoub in Lotfy Nathan’s upcoming horror film. The movie is set to hit theaters this fall.

The Carpenter’s Son tells a dark and mysterious story set in Roman Egypt. The film follows a family in hiding, focusing on a boy, played by Noah Jupe, who begins to discover powers beyond his understanding.

He rebels against his guardian, the Carpenter, played by Cage, and faces both natural and divine horrors as his abilities grow. FKA Twigs plays the Mother, and Souheila Yacoub also stars in the film.

The screenplay draws inspiration from the apocryphal Infancy Gospel of Thomas, a 2nd-century text that recounts the childhood of Jesus. This historical influence shapes the story’s eerie and supernatural elements.

Filming started in September 2024 in Megara. During production, Cage had a frightening encounter with a swarm of bees in one of the caves used as a location, according to reports. In May 2025, Magnolia Pictures secured U.S. distribution rights to the film.

The teaser offers a first look at the haunting visuals and intense performances, promising a horror story that mixes family drama, ancient legend, and supernatural terror.

Nicolas Cage is always a compelling presence, and combining him with FKA Twigs and Noah Jupe in a historical horror setting sounds intriguing. The teaser already shows a creepy and tense atmosphere, and it will be interesting to see how Nathan brings this ancient story to life. What do you think about The Carpenter’s Son?
