Netflix released a new behind-the-scenes teaser that showed the cast and crew hard at work bringing Eiichiro Oda’s manga to life once again.

Filming wrapped earlier this year on February 4, which means the new episodes are now one step closer to reaching the screen. Netflix first revealed that the live-action hit was renewed back in September 2023.

Even before the official announcement, producer Marty Adelstein had hinted that season 2 was ready to move forward but had been waiting for Netflix to give the green light. With season 1 proving to be one of Netflix’s most popular shows after its debut, the renewal was never really in doubt.

In a tweet from the OnePiece Netflix account, the streaming giant called the new adventure “worthy for the crew of the future King of the Pirates” and shared short clips from the set.

The teaser included actor Jeff Ward, who plays Buggy the Clown, giving a tour of some of the recreated locations fans will recognize from the manga. These sets included the Ipponmatsu Arms Store, the Twin Cape Lighthouse, Doskoi Panda shops, and even The Polestar Gallery.

Costume designer Kerry Barnard said more than a thousand outfits were made for the new season, while showrunner Matt Owens explained that the production team wanted to stay faithful to the manga while also adding new creative touches for live-action storytelling.

The new season has been given the title One Piece: Into the Grand Line. It will take viewers through some of the series’ most famous arcs, including Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island.

These storylines will also set up the bigger Arabasta Saga that follows. Netflix confirmed that new characters like Vivi, Doctor Kureha, and possibly Nico Robin will appear, adding even more depth to the Straw Hats’ journey.

The main cast is also back for another adventure. Iñaki Godoy returns as Monkey D. Luffy, Emily Rudd plays Nami, Mackenyu is back as Zoro, Jacob Romero plays Usopp, and Taz Skylar returns as Sanji.

Although Netflix hasn’t given an exact release date, the teaser shown during One Piece Day in Tokyo made it clear that season 2 will arrive in 2026. Fans are now waiting for a full trailer to see what kind of battles and challenges the Straw Hat crew will face next.

The official Netflix tweet summed up the spirit of the new season with a message that read: “To those who hunger for adventure, Season 2 is serving a voyage worthy for the crew of the future King of the Pirates!”

With bigger battles, new islands, and more powerful enemies waiting in the Grand Line, One Piece fans can expect the next chapter to raise the stakes even higher.
