Prince William Takes a Trip Through Time on the ‘Doctor Who’ Set
Prince William got a special behind-the-scenes look at the world of Doctor Who last month, visiting the show’s famous set at Bad Wolf Studios in Cardiff.
The royal, who also serves as president of BAFTA, toured the studio and even stepped inside the TARDIS, following in the footsteps of every Doctor from William Hartnell to Ncuti Gatwa.
During his visit, the Prince explored the interior of the Fifteenth Doctor’s TARDIS and spent time at the central console, according to Kensington Palace. Photos from the tour show him inspecting the iconic set and enjoying the experience of stepping inside the time machine that has been central to the beloved sci-fi series for decades.

In addition to Doctor Who, Prince William also visited the set of The Other Bennet Sister, an upcoming period drama expected to air in 2026.
He met with recipients of the Prince William Bursary and joined a puppetry workshop at St Albans RC Primary School, as part of his visit to support future creative talent in Wales.
A montage of the visit was shared on Kensington Palace’s social media accounts.
The post said, “Ahead of sharing a special message at the @baftacymru Awards this evening, it was a pleasure to spend time at Bad Wolf Studios Wales in Cardiff, meeting trainees supported by @bafta’s Prince of Wales Bursary and Screen Alliance Wales, exploring the sets of The Other Bennet Sister and Doctor Who, and joining St Albans RC Primary School for a classroom puppetry workshop. From period pieces to all of time and space, both the BAFTA bursary and Bad Wolf Studios are actively inspiring future generations of creative talent. Well done to all those involved, and best of luck to tonight’s nominees!”

Over the years, the Doctor has had several run-ins with royalty on screen, including David Tennant’s Tenth Doctor saving Buckingham Palace in the 2007 Christmas special, Voyage of the Damned. After his visit, fans can’t help but wonder if Prince William might one day make a cameo in the series. Stranger things have happened.
