Paramount+ has released the first trailer for season four of Mayor of Kingstown, showing Jeremy Renner’s Mike McLusky facing new threats in the town he tries to control.

The trailer hints at a tense season, with Mike struggling to maintain order and protect the people he cares about.

“The only time you’re going to be safe is when you’re in your cell. Watch everyone without watching. Trust no one unless I tell you to do so. Someone will come after you,” Mike says in the trailer to Taylor Handley’s character Kyle, who seems to be heading to prison after the events of season three.

Season four’s story will see Mike confronting new players who want to fill the power vacuum left by the Russians.

The logline explains, “Mike’s control over Kingstown is threatened as new players compete to fill the power vacuum left in the Russians’ wake, compelling him to confront the resulting gang war and stop them from swallowing the town. Meanwhile, with those he loves in more danger than ever before, Mike must contend with a headstrong new Warden to protect his own while grappling with demons from his past.”

The season also features Edie Falco, Lennie James, Laura Benanti, Hugh Dillon, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Hamish Allan-Headley, and Nishi Munshi. Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, who co-created the series, executive produce alongside Renner, with David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Dave Erickson, Christoph Schrewe, Wendy Riss, Evan Perazzo, and Keith Cox also serving as executive producers. Erickson is also the showrunner.

Mayor of Kingstown season four will premiere on Paramount+ on Sunday, October 26.
