Bebe Rexha Talks About Making Out With a Fan While Tipsy in Japan
Bebe Rexha is opening up about a wild night in Tokyo that ended up inspiring her new music. The 36-year-old singer told Page Six Radio that the evening happened right after Halloween, when she decided to hit the town in Japan.
“It was one of those nights where you just let go,” Rexha said, recalling the crowded nightclub where she found herself dancing behind the DJ booth. She noticed a group at a nearby table and soon got pulled into a spontaneous connection.
“A young woman came over, and we started dancing,” Rexha shared. “It escalated quickly, and she started making out with me. Honestly, it was one of the best nights ever.”
The encounter was so memorable that Rexha turned it into the inspiration for her new song, Tokyo. “I kissed a girl in Tokyo,” she sings in the track, capturing the energy of that unplanned night. Later, she learned the woman was actually a fan, which made the story even funnier for her.
When asked about dating a fan long-term, Rexha stayed open-minded. “You never know what could happen,” she admitted. For now, she’s focused on turning the story into music and embracing a new era of honesty in her work.
Tokyo is set to appear on her upcoming fourth studio album, Dirty Blonde, releasing on June 12. This album is her first full-length project as an independent artist under EMPIRE. To tease it, Rexha recently dropped a four-minute supercut of all 13 songs, produced by Diplo, which includes a mini music video for each track.
The singer has also been busy promoting the album. She appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show, wearing a floor-length, high-slit gown, and got emotional while talking about her dreams of love and creative freedom. She also hinted at a major world tour to support Dirty Blonde, promising a bold and unapologetic performance.
Fans of hits like I’m Good (Blue) will find a familiar energy in her lead single, I Like You Better Than Me, which is already climbing the charts this February. With this album, Rexha says she’s embracing a no-filters approach, putting authenticity and fun at the center of her music.
Bebe’s Tokyo story is not just a playful anecdote—it’s a snapshot of her fearless new direction, showing that sometimes the best inspiration comes from letting go and living in the moment.
