Amanda Seyfried, 40, Shines in Glamorous Gown at the Testament of Ann Lee Premiere
Amanda Seyfried made a dazzling entrance at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival on Thursday, February 19, for the premiere of her latest movie, The Testament of Ann Lee. The 40-year-old actress wore a glamorous bejewelled nude gown with detailed embroidery and a sheer mesh skirt that immediately caught attention on the red carpet.
She kept her accessories simple, wearing just a silver necklace, and let her dress be the main focus. Her blonde hair was styled in soft, flowing curls. Seyfried was joined by her co-star Viola Prettejohn, known for her role in The Crown, who went for a bold black outfit.
Prettejohn paired a sleek bralette with a high-waisted skirt that had a thigh-high split and finished the look with tall black platform heels. The two actresses posed for photos with the film’s director, Mona Fastvold, and composer Daniel Blumberg, who wore a black suit with a navy baseball cap.
This premiere comes during awards season, where Seyfried is once again in the spotlight. She recently spoke to The New Yorker about her views on nominations and wins, saying, “The nomination itself is what truly thrusts you forward.” She added that while winning is nice, it isn’t necessary for her to feel successful, noting that audiences rarely remember winners from the last ten years.

Seyfried’s appearances have also drawn attention after her reactions at the Golden Globes, where she seemed unimpressed after losing to Rose Byrne. A clip of her grimacing went viral, and some fans suggested she already knew the outcome.
Beyond awards, Seyfried has faced criticism for her political comments on social media. In late 2025, she called conservative influencer Charlie Kirk hateful shortly after he was killed during a debate in Utah.
She later clarified her stance, calling the violence “disturbing and deplorable”, but she refused to apologize for her original comments. In an interview with Who What Wear, she said she was simply stating facts and would not backtrack under pressure, even as some called for boycotts of her work.
Despite the controversy, Seyfried continues to focus on her career. She recently starred with Sydney Sweeney in the psychological thriller The Housemaid, which made $133 million worldwide and already has a confirmed sequel called The Housemaid’s Secrets. Seyfried has said she enjoys switching between different genres and now chooses roles more deliberately for artistic reasons.
She is also busy with upcoming projects. The Housemaid sequel is expected to begin filming later this year. Seyfried is starring in the Peacock crime drama Long Bright River, playing a Philadelphia police officer. She has several other high-profile projects lined up for this year and 2027.
