Sabrina Carpenter shut down a social media critic who tried to mock her height after her massive festival performance. The singer, 20, was responding to a post from a user on X who made fun of her stature after seeing her perform Manchild at Lollapalooza.

The post shared footage from the festival in Buenos Aires, where Carpenter performed for a crowd of 100,000 fans. During the show, the audience joined in a call-and-response segment from the song, loudly labeling some men as useless.

The user, @uncledoomer, tried to use Carpenter’s height, which is around 4 foot 11, as a way to discredit her message. “Women are always like ‘men are useless,’ but Sabrina Carpenter is like 4 foot 11, she can’t even climb into a mid-size SUV without help,” the comment read.

Carpenter responded simply and confidently. “Yes, I can?” she wrote back. Her reply quickly went viral, with fans rushing to defend her and call out the ridiculousness of using height as a measure of ability or success.

The performance in Buenos Aires was part of Carpenter’s South American tour following stops in India and Chile. She shared behind-the-scenes photos with her 50.5 million Instagram followers, showing her in high-fashion looks, including a custom tribute to soccer legend Lionel Messi.

“Buenos Aires & Santiago! Two of the biggest and loudest crowds we’ve ever had the pleasure of playing for,” she wrote. “I am the luckiest girl!! I want to go back already! I love you, I love you, I love you.”

Carpenter’s rise in music has been rapid. Her latest album, Man’s Best Friend, earned her six Grammy nominations. While she didn’t win a trophy, her Short n’ Sweet tour proved her status as a top live performer, finishing in November after 72 sold-out shows worldwide.

“This show really was everything I’ve dreamt of making since I was young,” she told fans during the final week of the tour. Looking ahead, Carpenter is expected to return to acting with several new film projects in development. She may also head back into the studio to start work on the follow-up to Man’s Best Friend.
