Blood, Fame, and Fangs: ‘The Vampire Lestat’ Trailer Unleashes His Wild Rock Star Era
A new look at The Vampire Lestat has just arrived, and it shows a very different side of Lestat. AMC released the official trailer for the upcoming season, which used to be known as Interview with the Vampire season 3. The update gives fans a clear idea of what is coming next in the story based on Anne Rice’s world.
In the new footage, Sam Reid returns as Lestat de Lioncourt, and this time he is stepping into the spotlight as a rock star. The trailer shows him performing on stage while singing “Dancing With Myself”, the well-known song by Billy Idol. The tone is loud, flashy, and dark at the same time.
According to AMC, the new season follows Lestat as he travels and performs in different cities, building fame as what the show calls an immortal rock star. But the story is not just about music and fame. The trailer makes it clear that Lestat is still dealing with his past and the choices he made.
At one point, a voice reminds him of everything he has lived through, saying, “You’ve been alive and undead for 265 years. You witnessed the French Revolution, the electric light, the atomic bomb… Why music? Why now?” Lestat answers simply, “We’re doing a rewrite.”

The series continues after the events caused by Daniel Molloy, played by Eric Bogosian, who exposed vampires through his interviews. Lestat now wants to tell his own version of the story. At the same time, his growing fame starts to affect both humans and vampires, creating tension and conflict.
The trailer also hints at action, with scenes of Lestat fighting other vampires while trying to stay in control of his new life. He even says, “I’ve been a monster. This is my reckoning. I am the Vampire Lestat. I am a god.” These lines show how serious and personal the story will be.
Jacob Anderson returns as Louis, alongside other cast members like Assad Zaman, Delainey Hayles, and Jennifer Ehle. The show is led by creator Rolin Jones, with producers including Mark Johnson and Christopher Rice.
The new season is set to premiere on June 7.
This new direction feels bold. Turning Lestat into a rock star could either be a big win or feel strange, depending on how it is done. The mix of music, fame, and dark themes looks interesting, especially with the focus on his past. It could give the story more depth if handled well. What do you think about this version of Lestat? Do you like the rock star idea or do you prefer the classic style? Share your thoughts in the comments.
