Adam Scott Jokes He Tried to Sneak Into ‘Hellraiser 6’ After Being Killed Off in Part 4
Adam Scott has shared a strange story from early in his acting career, revealing he once auditioned for a “Hellraiser” sequel even though his character had already been killed off in the franchise years earlier. He joked that he thought, “Maybe they won’t notice,” when he walked into the audition.
The actor first appeared in the horror series in 1996’s “Hellraiser: Bloodline,” where he played Jacques, a young man who gets pulled into a deadly deal involving a demon named Angelique. Scott talked about that early role during a recent appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” which is the source of the comments.
Looking back, Scott said he barely understood what he was getting into at the time. He explained, “I was like, ‘Oh, this is an acting job?’ And so I was so excited.” He added that his character’s fate in the film was brutal and hard to miss, joking, “I think someone bites my face off.”
After that first movie, Scott kept working in small roles across different projects. Then, years later, he got another surprise: an audition for “Hellraiser 6,” also known as “Hellraiser: Hellseeker.” The problem was simple. His character from the earlier film was already dead.
Scott said his agent sent him the audition anyway, and he decided to go for it despite the awkward history. He admitted, “But I need a job, so I’m like, ‘Screw it.’ And I go to the audition just thinking, ‘Maybe they won’t notice that I was in Hellraiser 4.’”
Things got even more uncomfortable when he realized people from the earlier film were in the same building during the audition process. He recalled sitting in the waiting room and noticing a producer from “Hellraiser 4” nearby, making the situation feel even more obvious. He described it as a very awkward moment where he still tried to push through and hope for the best.
During the interview, he also reflected on how unpredictable that stage of his career was. In a separate conversation he once had with BuzzFeed, Scott said his first film experience felt exciting but chaotic, including mix-ups on set and a long delay before the movie was released.
Even though those early projects were messy, he said he was just happy to be working at the time, even if the final results were not great.
Scott is now far removed from those early horror roles. His latest film, “Hokum,” is currently in theaters, and he continues to work steadily in film and television after years of steady career growth.
