“I’m not gonna turn it down if an audition comes my way,” Topp said, acknowledging the fan campaign that has followed him online for months.

It’s a low-key but telling response from an actor who has watched his name circulate in DC casting conversations without any official confirmation that a Booster Gold project, or an audition, is actually on the table. The character remains part of DC’s broader television plans, though no formal casting news has emerged for the role as of now.

The push for Topp to play Booster Gold didn’t start with a studio announcement. It grew organically out of fan edits, TikTok fancasts and viral clips imagining him in the character’s signature goggles and gold suit, with supporters pointing to his comedic timing and everyman likability as a natural fit for the hero.

Booster Gold, created decades ago as DC’s brash, glory-seeking time traveler turned reluctant hero, has long been considered a tricky character to adapt, one that requires an actor capable of balancing comic bravado with genuine heart. Fans clearly believe Topp has the range for it, and his own comments suggest he’s flattered by the comparison rather than dismissive of it.

Whether that enthusiasm eventually translates into an actual audition remains to be seen, especially with DC’s television slate still taking shape following recent titles like ‘Supergirl,’ with ‘Lanterns’ and ‘Clayface’ also on the way later this year.
