‘Argylle’ Star Dua Lipa Sets Paris on Fire in a Daring See-Through Look, and Fans Can’t Stop Asking How She Does It
Paris Fashion Week has a way of turning front rows into runways, and few celebrities understand the assignment like Dua Lipa. The pop star has spent the week in the French capital, balancing shows, studio sessions and late dinners with friends. Every outfit she has worn has become a talking point.
Her latest Instagram recap only added fuel. It pulls together glimpses of her whole trip, from time in a music studio to candlelit evenings with friends and appearances at some of the week’s biggest shows. And one particular look in the carousel has fans reaching for superlatives.
The outfit in question is a sheer, plum-toned top worn without a bra, paired with dark purple shorts and matching tights in the same color. She finished the look with a jacket decorated in glittering, textured appliqués, while gold chains on the shorts added an eye-catching detail. The monochrome palette kept the whole thing cohesive, even as the sheer fabric made it daring.
The look appears to echo the eggplant styling she wore in Paris for Marc Jacobs, according to W Magazine, which described a jeweled jacket with a scalloped hem and tiny crystal-ball appliqués worn over matching sheer hosiery and no pants. The Marc Jacobs spring 2027 collection leaned into retro spandex and gold chains, which suits her style well.
Fans reacted at lightning speed. The post reportedly passed 800,000 likes in just 12 hours, with followers praising her body, attitude and charisma, and some crowning her the queen of fashion.
The sheer look is only one chapter in a week full of headline-making outfits. Lipa also wore a cut-out Ferragamo little black dress, and a feathered red Chanel dress with floral detailing for the label’s front-row show. The latter came with slingback pumps and a sculpted brown heel that flared into a mushroom shape.
The Chanel spring 2027 show took place at the Grand Palais on Oct. 5, with designer Matthieu Blazy presenting the collection. Lipa sat in the front row near Nicole Kidman and Alexa Demie, in a lineup that also included Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal. Few events in Paris this season have drawn such a crowded star roster.
The moment that has been dominating social media, though, wasn’t the fashion at all. Lipa, Wiig, Pascal and Kidman filmed a lip-sync video to the viral song ‘Nicole Kidman’ by Slovak singer ADÉLA, a track that has become a TikTok tribute to the actress. In the clip, Wiig kicks things off, Pascal takes the next line and Lipa joins in, before Kidman delivers the lyric with her own name and sends a playful kiss to the camera.
One correction worth noting for anyone following the coverage: the song is by ADÉLA, not the British superstar Adele, as some summaries have suggested. The track’s music video arrived on Sept. 4 alongside her debut album ‘PRIMA’, and it has since climbed the charts, reaching No. 3 on Billboard’s Global 200 and No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Kidman herself has embraced the trend, and the lip-sync clip has since spread across Instagram and TikTok. The video also showcased a rare, relaxed side of the front row, where stars usually sit stone-faced while photographers circle.
Part of the appeal is that she treats fashion as play rather than performance. A sheer top is risky in any season, but Lipa pairs bold pieces with obvious confidence, and her fans reward that energy. The same goes for her social media, where a casual photo dump manages to be glamorous without feeling over-curated.
It also helps that her week has been so well-rounded. Between the studio, the dinners and the show appearances, her Paris diary reads like a perfect advertisement for the lifestyle that fashion fans love to follow. The viral lip-sync only added more momentum.
