‘Deep Water’ Star Ana de Armas Revives a Louis Vuitton Archive Sequin Dress in Paris
Paris in October has a way of turning the whole entertainment world into a front-row crowd, and few stars know that circuit better than Ana de Armas. Her Louis Vuitton look this season is another reminder of why the house keeps her close.
She has worn the brand for years and is a house ambassador, and she was named a face of the jewelry line in 2023. More recently she fronted the 2026 Color Blossom fine jewelry campaign.

For Paris Fashion Week, de Armas dipped into the archives. She wore a black sequin micro minidress from Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2015 collection, styled by Samantha McMillen.
She first wore it at the Palais de l’Élysée, where Louis Vuitton artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière received the insignia of Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur from French President Emmanuel Macron. The ceremony came just ahead of the brand’s Spring/Summer 2027 show, which made the archival choice feel like a tribute to the designer being honored.

The photos she shared show the dress up close. It has long sleeves, a high neckline and subtly structured shoulders that give the silhouette a polished, modern edge. In one frame, a mirror catches the back of the dress, and the sequins ripple in the light.
The team let the dress do the talking. Owen Gould styled her brunette hair in soft waves, while makeup artist Charlotte Prevel added a luminous complexion, subtle liner and nude gloss.
She skipped heavy necklaces and bracelets, keeping the focus on the shimmering texture and sharp tailoring. Simple black pumps and a Louis Vuitton clutch finished the look.
It is also a design with some red carpet pedigree. Jennifer Connelly wore the same Spring 2015 dress in 2014, and one outlet noted that it still feels current 12 years later. That staying power is what makes an archival pick feel clever rather than nostalgic.
The ceremony was one stop in a busy few days. On Monday night she attended a private Louis Vuitton dinner in Paris alongside Emma Stone, Chloë Grace Moretz, Sophie Thatcher, the Haim sisters and Jaden Smith.
The show itself followed on October 6. Ghesquière took over the Louvre courtyard, with Zendaya, Emma Stone and Saoirse Ronan among the guests, and models moved through a road-themed set featuring branded cars and painted traffic markings. De Armas was joined by her boyfriend, Venezuelan singer Beto Montenegro, as they headed to the show.
This is far from her first sparkly moment in the brand. At the 2023 Oscars she wore a sequin-encrusted Louis Vuitton gown with a low-cut scoop neckline and a ruffled train, a look that echoed the shimmering dress Marilyn Monroe wore in 1962. That earlier look landed during her Best Actress nomination for ‘Blonde’.
The pattern is clear. When de Armas wants a statement, she tends to reach for texture, from the shimmer of sequins to the drama of a sculpted shoulder, rather than a loud print or heavy jewelry.
Fans have been quick to react online, and the black sequin choice is easy to see why. It is glamorous without being fussy, and the loose waves and soft makeup keep it relaxed. The mini length, the long sleeves and the structured shoulder balance sex appeal with a slightly vintage polish.
It also fits the mood of the season. Leather, strong shoulders and dramatic necklines have turned up repeatedly on celebrity guests at Paris Fashion Week, and a sequined archive piece slots right into that conversation while still feeling personal.
For de Armas, the move says something about how she approaches fashion. She is not chasing the newest runway piece, but picking a design with a story and letting it speak for itself.
