Liam Neeson Jokes About “Pedro Fatigue” During ‘Naked Gun’ Premiere: “Pedro Pascal Isn’t in This Movie”
Pedro Pascal has been everywhere lately. If you’ve been online, you’ve probably seen his face in countless memes. The Game of Thrones actor has been taking on role after role, and he’s gotten plenty of free publicity thanks to his progressive views and support for the LGBTQ+ community.
But he’s also been caught up in controversy recently after being accused of inappropriately touching his The Fantastic Four: First Steps co-star Vanessa Kirby, who is engaged.
Pascal has addressed the situation. He explained that he likes to stay physically close to his co-stars when he feels anxious at red carpet events and premieres. It’s important to note Kirby was just as comfortable with the interactions and even initiated some of them, and she never said she felt uneasy. As Pascal put it, it was mutual contact.
Even before this, some fans had started talking about “Pedro fatigue.” That’s because the actor has been in a long list of big projects in the past year alone. He’s appeared in both seasons of The Last of Us, The Mandalorian, The Uninvited, The Wild Robot, Gladiator II, Eddington, Materialists, and most recently The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
And he’s not slowing down. Right now, Pascal is working on two major movies, The Mandalorian and Grogu and Avengers: Doomsday. His schedule is packed, and it’s clear he’s one of Hollywood’s busiest actors.
That’s why it was no surprise that during the premiere of The Naked Gun, Liam Neeson, who stars in the film, decided to poke fun at the current state of pop culture. Speaking to the audience, Neeson joked, “Spoiler alert: there’s no zombies, no superheroes, and Pedro Pascal isn’t in this movie.”

The Naked Gun is a 2025 American action-comedy directed by Akiva Schaffer, who co-wrote the script with Dan Gregor and Doug Mand. It’s a legacy sequel to Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult (1994) and the fourth film in the franchise. This time, the story follows the son of Lt. Frank Drebin as he tries to live up to his father’s legacy while stopping the closure of the Police Squad.
The cast includes Liam Neeson, Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, Kevin Durand, Danny Huston, and more. Priscilla Presley even returns for a cameo as Jane Spencer-Drebin, the late Frank Drebin’s wife and the main character’s mother.
The movie premiered on July 28, 2025, at the SVA Theater in New York and was released in the U.S. on August 1, 2025, by Paramount Pictures. Early reviews from critics have been mostly positive.
It was all in good fun, but Neeson showed he’s still tuned into pop culture and knows exactly how to get a laugh by referencing the big names and trends everyone is talking about.
