Fans of slow burn Korean romance have a new obsession brewing, and it comes wrapped in the kind of emotional messiness that only a decade long relationship can produce. ‘A Love Other Than Yours‘ is set to challenge everything viewers think they know about long term couples, marriage jitters, and the people who show up right when you least expect them.

The KBS2 melodrama pairs Seo Kang-joon and Ahn Eun-jin as a couple standing at a crossroads, and the premise alone has already stirred plenty of chatter among Kdrama circles online.

‘A Love Other Than Yours’ Release Date and Where to Watch

The series is scheduled to premiere on KBS2 on September 12, 2026, and will air every Saturday and Sunday at 21:20 KST. It will also be available for streaming, expanding its reach well beyond Korean audiences.

The drama’s total run has also been confirmed. ‘A Love Other Than Yours’ consists of 14 episodes, directed by Hwang Seung-ki and Lee Garam, and written by Yoo Su-ji, who is also known for the drama Somehow 18.

According to KDW editorial team’s coverage, the series airs Saturdays and Sundays through late October on KBS2, with Prime Video carrying it internationally for global audiences.

‘A Love Other Than Yours’ Explores Cracks in a Decade-Long Romance

At its core, this is a story about what happens when comfort starts to feel like complacency. ‘A Love Other Than Yours’ is a realistic romance drama that follows a couple in their tenth year of dating as they experience unexpected emotional changes in a relationship that once felt familiar.

The emotional stakes only intensify from there. As passion fades and loyalty and trust take its place, the couple finds themselves torn between breaking up and getting married, ultimately reexamining the true meaning of love.

The male lead’s arc kicks the story into motion in a very deliberate way. Namgung Ho, an office worker, becomes entangled in an unexpected emotional whirlwind after confronting the wavering feelings of the lover he cherishes, and it leads him to make a bold proposal.

Meanwhile, the story does not shy away from the idea that both halves of this couple are vulnerable to outside temptation at the same time. New people arrive in both of their lives around the same time their relationship is supposed to graduate into something permanent, and neither of them actually goes looking for it.

The Cast Brings a Love Square to Life

Leading the charge are two familiar faces to Kdrama fans. Seo Kang Jun stars as Namgoong Ho and Ahn Eun Jin plays Lee Mi Do, and the newly released stills show the longtime couple enjoying a date, with their natural gaze toward each other reflecting years of comfort while hinting at subtle emotional tension.

Ahn’s character brings her own professional intensity into the mix. Lee Mi-do is described as a charismatic and sensual film director who experiences confusion upon meeting a new love interest despite having a long term boyfriend.

The secondary couple rounds out what fans are already calling a love square. Lee Joo Ahn plays Han Tae Seung, an ambitious lawyer who shakes up the relationship between Namgoong Ho and Lee Mi Do, while Jo Aram plays Park Soo Ah, a coworker of Namgoong Ho who does not shy away from expressing her feelings, which brings small but noticeable changes to his long term relationship.

Casting for the project came together over a period of months. Ahn Eun-jin was first reported to be in talks for the female lead in late January 2026, and by March 2026 both Seo Kang-joon and Ahn Eun-jin’s appearances were confirmed alongside Lee Joo-ahn and Jo Aram joining as the secondary couple.

‘A Love Other Than Yours’ Trailer and First-Look Stills Signal Emotional Depth

KBS2 has already started rolling out promotional material to build anticipation ahead of the premiere. The network unveiled its first glimpse of the drama featuring Seo Kang Jun and Ahn Eun Jin, describing the project as a realistic romance drama that follows a couple in their tenth year of dating.

The tone of these early materials suggests the show is aiming for something grounded rather than flashy. The whole picture has been condensed into recurring emotional beats described as a decade at the crossroads, a director in crisis, a quiet unraveling, and a marriage question mark, capturing the layered tension at the heart of the story.

Anticipation has been steadily building among Kdrama watchers who track upcoming melodrama releases. The series has been tagged with themes including marriage, falling in love, breakups, long term relationships, emotional distance, relationship crisis, and realistic romance, giving a clear sense of the emotional territory it plans to cover across its run.

With a premiere date locked in and a cast that fans are already invested in, ‘A Love Other Than Yours’ looks primed to spark plenty of debate once it lands. Do you think Namgoong Ho and Lee Mi Do can survive their ten year relationship once these new love interests fully enter the picture, or is this couple already headed for a breakup by the time the credits roll on episode fourteen.
