Amazon Prime Video (Streaming Service)

Amazon Prime Video is a subscription video-on-demand platform owned by Amazon that offers movies, TV shows, live sports, and rental or purchase options. It features a mix of Amazon MGM Studios originals and licensed content, and is available either as part of Amazon Prime or as a separate subscription in some regions.

The service launched in 2006 and has grown into one of the largest streaming platforms in the world, with around 205 million paid users globally. It expanded internationally in 2016 and now operates in most major markets, with different subscription models depending on the country.

Prime Video also offers add-on “channels” that let users subscribe to extra streaming services within the platform. Today, it is one of the most widely used streaming services worldwide, second only to Netflix in total subscribers.
