A Little History

Born shortly before the Clone Wars, Ahsoka has quickly become a fan-favorite amongst Star Wars fanatics.

Hailing from Shili, Ahsoka was found to be force-sensitive and brought to Coruscant by Jedi Master Plo-Koon. Unable to take her own as his apprentice, she was trained by and became the Jedi Padawan to Anakin Skywalker. Even though she was apprenticed to Anakin, Ahsoka took it upon herself to reach out to many members of the Jedi Order. Most importantly, these, of course, included Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Master Yoda.

Unfortunately, as a result of the events that transpired during the Clone Wars, Anakin was never truly elevated to a Jedi Master. That is, to become a Jedi Master, you must see your Padawan successfully become a Jedi Knight. Ahsoka Tano did not do this.

Her turning point came at the end of Season 5 of The Clone Wars. During this time, the Jedi Temple was bombed, people were murdered and Ahsoka was framed for the occurrence. To make matters worse, while this was happening, she was unsupported by those closest to her, the Jedi Council. Eventually, she was found to be innocent of the crimes but her persecution by the Council led her to feel betrayed by those she trusted most.

Worse yet, even though Anakin pushed for her innocence and found those responsible for the crimes, Ahsoka left the Jedi Order. As she walked away, Anakin’s faith in the Jedi Order waned more than it already had. This moment, coupled with many others contributed to Anakin’s fall to the Dark Side of the Force.

As the animated series continued and ultimately ended, the audience witnessed Ahsoka’s rise to become one of the most interesting characters to come to the Star Wars Universe in decades.
