‘All-New Venom’ Cover Shows MJ’s Wedding with Venom

We have already written about the All-New Venom series and the controversies it caused. And while some fans like the series’ boldness, others think that it ruined the spirit of Venom as a character. Be that as it may, the series is continuing strongly!

The fifth issue is out now, but Marvel has just teased the upcoming seventh issue, which is set to be released on June 4, 2025, in two months’ time. And while a cover can be misleading, this one is a shocker.

Namely, one of the covers (see below) that will be present in the issue shows Mary Jane Watson getting married do – Venom! What?! Keep reading to find out more!

As you can see, the situation is clear. All-New Venom, the titular iteration of the popular antihero, is getting married to Mary-Jane Watson, and all the characters – as well as the potential candidates for the role of Venom in the series – are absolutely shocked.

This is an alternative cover by acclaimed artist David Baldeón, and it is actually an homage to Peter Parker and Mary Jane’s iconic wedding from the Amazing Spider-Man Annual #21, i.e., Romita’s cult classic cover.

And while this doesn’t have to mean much, we should remind you what the editor said not long ago about a wedding in the series:

You…you want MJ and Paul to get married? I mean, if we get enough fans calling for it, I am sure we can make it happen. Not a request I was expecting, but I will see what I can do. In all seriousness, there has been some big romance talk recently around these parts. I was trying to figure out a love interest for Dylan and was disappointed to find that MJ’s cousin Kristi was shown as being in college at one point–I thought she would have been a great love interest for him.

June cannot come soon enough, eh?
