Anya Taylor-Joy Goes Bold in Red With a Law Roach-Styled Photo Shoot Days Before ‘Sacrifice’ Hits Netflix
Few stars treat fashion like a second acting career as seriously as Anya Taylor-Joy. Her red carpet looks are rarely simple, and each one tends to read like a character she has invented for the night.
That reputation was on full display again this week in a new set of photos that has fashion fans talking, just as her newest film heads to streaming.
The credit for the new shoot goes to Law Roach, the celebrity stylist who started working with Taylor-Joy right before her ‘Emma’ press tour in early 2020. For that tour he dressed her in vintage Bob Mackie and a daring Halpern look, and he later created a custom green Dior gown for her Golden Globes win for ‘The Queen’s Gambit’.
Roach has described her as fearless in her fashion, with a touch of whimsy, and has said he likes to put her in pieces with a retro undertone. Over the years the two have turned that into a signature, and other stylists have worked with her in between, so a fresh Roach credit gets noticed.

In the new photos, Taylor-Joy wears a vivid red high-necked top in a draped, flowing fabric. A leather collar with a metal O-ring sits at her throat, giving an otherwise soft silhouette a sharp, slightly edgy detail.
The setting is a leafy garden in autumn tones, with golden and green foliage behind her. In one frame, her platinum blonde hair falls in a long braid over her shoulder as she looks back at the camera, while in another her hair is sleek and center-parted, and she touches her lips with a gold-ringed hand.
The red stands out against the muted greens and oranges. The clean hair, minimal makeup and single bold color keep the focus on the shape and the hardware.
Reaction online focused on how deliberate the look feels. One fan praised the sharp hair and the long braid against the red as clean and a little sharp, adding that Roach has always known how to give her an off-kilter, almost period feel without making it a costume.
That balance is what Taylor-Joy fans have come to expect. Her best looks tend to pair a vintage sensibility with a modern twist, and this red set follows the formula.
The shoot follows a stretch of high-profile style moments. During Paris Fashion Week she was spotted in a Jil Sander Fall 2026 black dress designed by Simone Bellotti, with a voluminous panel at the back and Giuseppe Zanotti mules.
As a Dior ambassador, she has the freedom to wear the house’s Spring 2027 looks whenever she likes, but this outing was notably understated. She also appeared on her first Vanity Fair cover earlier this year, and she is a brand ambassador for Tiffany.
First trailer for ‘SACRIFICE’, starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Evans. The film follows a failing movie star who tries to get back into the spotlight at a charity gala but is soon kidnapped by radical warriors. Releasing October 16 on Netflix. https://t.co/Rcqk22Ihfj

Her timing is no coincidence. ‘Sacrifice‘, the satirical thriller directed by Romain Gavras, arrives on Netflix on October 16 in the United States and France.
Taylor-Joy plays Joan, a zealot on a mission to save the world from a fiery reckoning. Chris Evans plays Mike Tyler, a film star whom Joan kidnaps. A viral clip shows her pressuring him to jump into a volcano.
The cast also includes Vincent Cassel, Ambika Mod and Jonatan Leandoer, known as Yung Lean. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6, 2025, so audiences have waited more than a year for it to reach streaming.
The new photos arrive as Netflix ramps up its promotion, with fresh clips and first-look images circulating. Taylor-Joy’s red styling gives the campaign a strong visual identity just days before the release.
Taylor-Joy has always used fashion to build a mythology around herself. She rarely gives long interviews, and her clothes often do the talking.
This new set continues that approach, with a bold color, a sculptural collar and a retro-modern mood. If the pairing with Roach is back for good, the next few weeks should deliver plenty of memorable looks.
