Are We Going to Have Two Captain Americas in the MCU? Recent Rumors Indicate as Much

avengers secret wars to serve as a reboot

MCU has been on sort of a downward spiral recently, with several of its biggest productions failing, setting unflattering records. Most of the upcoming productions also get negative feedback on social media even before they are released.

Just take a look at ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ and a decent-sized part of the fandom that refuses to accept Sam Willson as Captain America despite Steve Rogers getting a perfect closure for his story arc.

Almost the entire fandom is however excited about the upcoming ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ and ‘Secret Wars,’ mostly due to hope fueled by the concept of variants. ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ already has 25 rumored & confirmed cameos and variants, and ‘Secret Wars,’ when the media coverage of the movie starts to the fullest, will easily have double that. Marvel expects that, this is why it was already referenced by the studio officially during the CinemaCon presentation when Deadpool starts sharing with Wolverine who will be in Secret Wars only to be interrupted by a ringing mobile phone.

Fans are expecting everyone from Beyonder to Iron Man to make an appearance in the movie, and while we don’t have anything to go on that this will truly take place, we do have a solid rumor that Chris Evans has already signed on to appear as Captain America in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ releasing in 2027.

Pretty much nothing is known about the movie except for the release date so far. The movie serves as a sequel to several previous Avengers films, including ‘The Avengers,’ ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ and ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.’ It marks the fortieth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and concludes Phase Six and The Multiverse Saga.
