MCU has quite a lot of projects to release in 2024, 2025, and beyond. We know that there are several movies being worked on currently and affected by the strikes, but none of them are as anticipated as ‘Avengers 5’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ which are expected to continue MCU’s tradition of majestic crossovers.

Just like in the case of ‘Infinity War’ and ‘Endgame,’ these two movies will also be released only a year apart from each other, but the difference is that this time, they won’t be filmed back-to-back and they’ll be developed by two separate teams of writers and directors.

While there’s next to nothing known about both movies, Jeff Sneider, reliable insider and scooper reports that ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ will be a 5-hour giant movie split into two parts. This comes from his InSneider newsletter.

Secret Wars is basically shaping up to be “a giant five-hour movie with a year-long intermission.

Kang the Conqueror was expected to take over from Thanos as the main villain of the Multiverse Saga; however, soon after the release of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ it became clear that the audience did not react to the new villain accordingly. Jonathan Majors, who was playing Kang and all of his variants, also got into some legal troubles, and for more than half a year, his status in the MCU was up in the air; Disney wasn’t so fast to fire him, not wanting to make the same mistake as with Johnny Depp.

More than 4 months ago, Majors was ultimately fired after being found guilty of third-degree assault, and now presumably the studio is trying to make sense of this and possibly find a new villain. The latest rumor regarding the movie is that Beyonder will be ultimately the main villain of the story.

Sam Raimi was referenced in the context of directing the movie, but he recently admitted that the studio hasn’t asked him yet, he is certainly willing.

The movie serves as a sequel to several previous Avengers films, including ‘The Avengers,’ ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ and ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.’ It marks the fortieth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and concludes Phase Six and The Multiverse Saga. Scheduled for release on May 7, 2027.
