‘Babylon’ Star Tobey Maguire Officiates Ex-Wife’s Wedding to Billionaire Heir: Inside Hollywood’s Most Amicable Split

Maguire and jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer met in 2003 on the set of ‘Seabiscuit’ and married in Kona, Hawaii, in September 2007. They separated in 2016 after nine years of marriage, and they’ve been co-parenting their two children ever since. Meyer has described Maguire as her best friend, and the pair have long been spotted together at family events.
That bond reached a new peak this weekend. On Saturday, October 10, Meyer married music executive Geoffrey Ogunlesi at the Four Seasons Resort Lanai in Hawaii, with Maguire serving as officiant. Photos from the ceremony show the actor reading from a sheet of paper as the couple exchanged vows among white flowers.

Meyer, 49, wore a strapless white ballgown with a sweeping veil, and Ogunlesi, 34, wore a black tuxedo. The pair exchanged vows in an outdoor ceremony, and Maguire, 51, stood at the center of it all. Meyer’s children with Maguire, daughter Ruby, 19, and son Otis, 17, were part of the celebration.
The guest list was star-studded. Leonardo DiCaprio attended with partner Vittoria Ceretti, and Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos arrived coordinated in black. Courteney Cox, Rachel Zoe, and Kate Hudson with fiancé Danny Fujikawa were among the other guests.
One notable name wasn’t confirmed. Meyer is a close friend of Jennifer Aniston, whose 2015 wedding bands she designed, but Aniston’s attendance has not been verified.

Ogunlesi is the founder and chief executive of The Ogunlesi Group and has built his own career in music management. He’s also the son of Nigerian billionaire Adebayo Ogunlesi, a co-founder of the private equity firm Global Infrastructure Partners. The firm was later acquired by BlackRock.
Meyer and Ogunlesi were first linked in summer 2023 and made their red-carpet debut at the Baby2Baby Gala that November. They announced their engagement in August 2024, and Meyer revealed that Ogunlesi arranged the proposal and the ring himself. Court documents show the couple welcomed a daughter on May 20, 2026.

The timing adds an extra layer of irony. Meyer filed for divorce in October 2020, and Maguire filed his response in July 2025. A Los Angeles judge declared the pair legally single on September 21, 2026, with the judgment filed on October 1, though other divorce-related matters remained unresolved.
In other words, Maguire stood up to marry his former wife to another man only weeks after the court officially ended their marriage. It’s the kind of plot twist that would feel too neat in a script, which is why the story has lit up entertainment headlines.
The ceremony didn’t come out of nowhere. Meyer has said that Maguire and Ogunlesi have developed an easy relationship, and that dynamic proved meaningful during the January 2025 Los Angeles wildfires, when Meyer, Ogunlesi and her children stayed at Maguire’s home. She has also spoken about how the former couple travel together and celebrate birthdays and holidays as one big family.
Back in 2018, when she first filed for divorce, Meyer had already called Maguire her best friend on Instagram. That Father’s Day post now reads like a preview of what was coming. One outlet went as far as saying Maguire “set the standard” for ex-spouses everywhere, and it’s hard to argue.
For a culture used to bitter split narratives, the wedding was a reminder that a marriage can end without a relationship ending. Maguire didn’t just send a gift or politely skip the day, he took center stage. The result is one of the most heartwarming celebrity wedding stories of the year.
