The latest MCU movie ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ is the 32nd movie set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Kevin Feige’s biggest career achievement isn’t showing any signs of tiresome. By the end of this year, we’ll watch one more MCU movie, and 2024 might be one of the strongest MCU years so far.

Currently, four MCU movies are set to be released in 2024; ‘Captain America: New World Order,’ ‘Thunderbolts,’ ‘Blade,’ and ‘Deadpool 3.’ The fourth ‘Captain America’ installment will depict Sam Wilson’s next adventure after he embraced the shield of Captain America in 2021’s Disney+ series ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.’ This upcoming movie is anticipated primarily because it’s promising to bring back something that’s been awfully absent from the MCU in the last few years; a more grounded and realistic story.

The production designer of ‘Captain America 4’ promises something that MCU desperately needs!

The production of ‘Captain America: New World Order’ began last March and it’s expected to last until the end of this month. Therefore the development of this movie wasn’t influenced by the ongoing WGA strike, which already delayed the development of ‘Thunderbolts’ and ‘Blade,’ which makes us worry that those movies won’t be finished before their announced release dates.

The good news is that ‘Captain America 4’ should be ready for its release in time, and the production designer Ramsey Avery recently spoke with Collider to tease a more grounded story with a sense that it’s really happening in the world. The director Julius Onah previously teased the movie as a “paranoid thriller,” so this pretty much backs those claims.

“The intent of this is to be very grounded, to make sure it has that sense of really happening in the world. So it’s a different sense in a lot of ways than particularly some of the more recent pieces have been. And it’s a very deliberate choice, and it’s a fascinating choice and an exciting choice. And it comes with a whole host of different kinds of questions involved in that.”

It’s been nine years since the release of ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier,’ which is still considered by many fans as one of the best MCU movies ever released. What’s special about that movie is that it has its own charm as more of a spy thriller action flick than a regular superhero movie.

Since then, MCU has raised the stakes so much that we got some really spectacular movies featuring magic, cosmic stuff, time-traveling, and saving the universe, but that feeling of realism was lost. We got that feeling back a bit with ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,’ and the upcoming Disney+ series ‘Secret Invasion’ is promising the same, but ‘Captain America: New World Order’ is promising to bring that back to a big screen, which is what makes us excited for this upcoming flick.

Starring Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Tim Blake Nelson, Shira Haas, Harrison Ford, Liv Tyler, and Seth Rollins, ‘Captain America: New World Order’ is set to be released on May 3, 2024.
