There are some actors who, once they dip their fingers into the comic book genre, they’re here to stay. David Harbour is certainly one of those actors. Harbour started his career playing supporting roles in various movies and tv shows before he gained wider recognition thanks to the role of Jim Hopper in Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things,’ which launched his career to a higher level. After that, it was a matter of time before he joined some big franchises like Marvel and DC. And check this out; now he’s part of both.

Maybe you didn’t even notice it at first, but Harbour played a minor role in David Ayer’s ‘Suicide Squad’ in 2016. He played Dexter Tolliver, a National Security Advisor for the President, who supported Amanda Waller’s idea of Task Force X, commonly known as Suicide Squad. In 2020, Harbour debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Alexei Shostakov, also known as the Red Guardian. The actor is already set to reprise his MCU role in the upcoming ‘Thunderbolts’ movie, which is set to be released next year when we’ll also hear his voice as the voice of Eric Frankenstein in DC’s animated series ‘Creature Commandos.’

Harbour’s next movie, ‘Gran Turismo,’ is scheduled to be released later this month, and you can already read our review on our sister site FictionHorizon.com. Although the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike is preventing the actors from doing any promotional work, interviews that were filmed prior to the strike are still available to be released by news outlets. In a recent interview with Collider, Harbour was also asked about his role in the upcoming ‘Creature Commandos’ animated series. Here’s how he teased his role as Eric Frankenstein and provided an update on the series’ development.

“We recorded a bunch of stuff. Not only that I get to play the DC Universe, I get to play like the James Gunn DC Universe, which is a whole new, exciting thing. I didn’t know what it was when it was sent to me. I met with James, and he sort of laid out a lot of stuff. It’s really exciting. He considers that some of the best stuff he’s ever written. It’s hilarious, and the character’s great. I think you know, I think it’s been announced it’s Frankenstein. It’s a very colorful, terrific character. I’m not one to really break, but during this, it is wildly funny stuff. Yeah, we’re shooting. It’s hilarious, I can’t wait for people to see it.”
