DC Heroes and Villains Take Center Stage at Warner Bros. Animation’s Big Annecy 2026 Showcase
Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios are heading to the Annecy International Animation Film Festival with one of their biggest animation lineups in years. The studios officially revealed a packed showcase for Annecy 2026, featuring major DC titles, brand-new animated series, exclusive previews, and creative panels with some of the people behind the projects.
Among the biggest highlights are new looks at upcoming DC animated projects including “My Adventures with Green Lantern,” “Mister Miracle,” “Starfire!” and “DC Super Powers.” Fans attending the festival in France will also get a closer look at “Creature Commandos,” which continues to expand DC’s animated universe.
The Annecy presentation will be led by DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran alongside Warner Bros. Animation president Sam Register. Several creators and executive producers are also expected to appear during the event, including Tom King, Rick Morales, Jake Wyatt, Josie Campbell, and Matt Beans.
According to Warner Bros. Animation, the festival panel is designed to showcase what the future of DC animation will look like over the next few years. The studio also plans to highlight projects from Cartoon Network Studios, Adult Swim, and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe.
Sam Register explained why Annecy remains so important for the animation industry. “Annecy continues to be one of the most important global gatherings for the animation community, celebrating the artistry and innovation that move our industry forward,” he said.
He also teased the scale of this year’s lineup. “From expanding the next era of DC animation with our partners at DC Studios to showcasing original voices across our studios, our programming this year reflects the range, ambition and creative momentum driving everything we do.”
Outside the superhero world, several completely original animated shows will also debut footage and previews during the festival.
One of the most talked-about new titles is “SuperMutant Magic Academy,” based on Jillian Tamaki’s award-winning graphic novel. Produced by Cartoon Network Studios for Adult Swim, the series follows teenage friends Marsha and Wendy as they deal with school life, strange magic, dragons, and mutant classmates inside a chaotic boarding school. Producers Calvin Wong and Jillian Tamaki are expected to discuss how the comic was adapted into animation.
Adult Swim will also showcase two new comedy series, “Living the Dream” and “Keeping up With the Joneses.”
“Keeping up With the Joneses” focuses on the Newberry family as they struggle to fit in with their extremely wealthy Dallas neighbors, including Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. The series promises a mix of satire, family comedy, and over-the-top humor.
Meanwhile, “Living the Dream,” which is connected to Netflix, follows two friends from London named Des and Ray who work at an eco-focused company while trying to survive awkward jobs, workplace drama, romance, and pressure from life around them. The show leans heavily into comedy while exploring modern work culture.
The festival will also include a world premiere screening for “Batman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall,” a new multi-part animated DC film event inspired by one of the most famous Batman comic storylines ever created. The project is already expected to be one of the biggest attractions at Annecy this year.
With DC superheroes, adult animation, comedy series, and major premieres all sharing the spotlight, Warner Bros. Animation appears to be making Annecy 2026 one of its biggest showcases yet.
