Eric Kripke Celebrates ‘The Boys’ Milestone With Wild “SUCK IT BLUEY” Post
According to Nielsen’s latest streaming report, Prime Video’s The Boys moved from number two to number one in the United States streaming rankings. The data covers total viewing minutes across major platforms and is tracked weekly across connected TV devices. The show reached 947 million viewing minutes during the measured period.
In the same report, the children’s series Bluey came in at number four with 810 million minutes watched. It has been a consistent presence near the top of the rankings for a long time. Other shows in the top five included Netflix’s “Running Point” and “La Brea,” showing a mix of genres across platforms.
The jump of “The Boys” to the top happened as its fifth season was finishing its run. The series has kept strong audience numbers even late in the season. The Nielsen data suggests viewers either finished the season in large numbers or started binge-watching it right before the finale period.
The most attention online, however, did not come from the numbers alone. It came from the show’s creator Eric Kripke.
After seeing the ranking, Kripke reacted directly on social media. He posted the Nielsen chart and added a short, blunt message aimed at the competition. In his post, he wrote, “SUCK IT BLUEY.” The comment was a clear joke, but it quickly spread across social platforms because of how direct and unusual it was coming from a major showrunner.
Kripke’s post became part of the story of the rankings. While Nielsen provides the official data, his reaction gave the moment a viral edge. Fans of both shows reacted online, with some treating it as a humorous victory lap and others pointing out the contrast between the two very different audiences of the shows involved.
The Nielsen report itself is based on total minutes watched across streaming services in the United States. It does not measure global audiences or engagement outside connected TV devices. Because of that, long-running episodes and binge viewing can strongly affect rankings, especially when a season ends.
“The Boys” has remained one of Prime Video’s most successful original series since its debut. Its mix of violent superhero satire and dark comedy has helped it stand out in a crowded streaming market. Each season has built on its audience, and Season 5 appears to have continued that trend during its final stretch.
At number two in the same week was Netflix’s “Running Point,” which reached 900 million viewing minutes. The gap between first and second place was close, but still enough for “The Boys” to secure the top position.
Other long-running titles also continued to appear in the rankings. Shows like “Family Guy,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” and “The Big Bang Theory” remained steady performers, showing that older series still attract large streaming audiences alongside newer releases.

Even with strong competition from across platforms, “The Boys” finished the week at number one. The Nielsen report confirms its strong performance at the end of its season cycle, while Kripke’s reaction turned the result into a larger pop culture moment.
For now, the data shows clear interest in the series, and the creator’s social media post made sure the achievement did not go unnoticed.
