Nicholas Galitzine spent much of last year quietly building a reputation as one of Hollywood’s most committed physical performers, trading rom-com charm for sword drills and full-contact choreography. His transformation into He-Man for ‘Masters of the Universe’ has already been well documented across gym photos, red carpet interviews, and behind-the-scenes featurettes released ahead of the film’s premiere.

Even so, the actor’s dedication keeps resurfacing in new ways, with fans continually digging up fresh clips that highlight just how hands-on his approach really was. The latest wave of appreciation started with a short training clip that has been circulating widely on social media in recent days.

A green screen video shows Galitzine locked in a fast-paced fight sequence, throwing and dodging punches opposite another performer on what looks like a padded soundstage rigged for visual effects work. The caption praised him directly, noting that Galitzine did his own fight scenes and as many stunts as he was allowed to, calling him a real action star.

That kind of reaction lines up with everything Galitzine has said publicly about his preparation for the role. Speaking during Fandango’s Big Ticket interview, the actor described periods where he would fast for 18 hours and complete a three-hour weight session before heading straight into stunt work, saying it would test your resolve. He described the process as forging an entirely new version of himself, one that was nowhere near ready physically or emotionally when the transformation began.

In a separate conversation with SFX magazine, Galitzine broke down just how intense the daily grind became once production ramped up. He shared that his schedule during pre-production included roughly three hours in the gym and two hours of dedicated stunt training every single day, on top of several more hours spent in hair, makeup, and costume fittings. He summed the entire stretch up simply, saying it was a life.

Much of that stunt training reportedly centered on learning to handle the Sword of Power convincingly on camera. Galitzine has explained that the production went through about a dozen different versions of the weapon during rehearsals, adjusting its balance repeatedly so that he could make it appear weightless despite the physical strain it put on his forearms. That kind of granular detail speaks to how seriously the choreography was treated behind the scenes, well beyond what typically makes it into a trailer or a press junket soundbite.

Galitzine has also spoken about wanting to earn the respect of his own stunt double throughout filming, describing a desire to prove himself rather than simply rely on someone else to handle the physically demanding sequences. That mentality appears to be exactly what fans are responding to now, with many commenters framing the resurfaced footage as proof that the effort was never just for show.

The physical commitment has become a defining talking point for ‘Masters of the Universe’ since its release, feeding into a broader appreciation for the film’s practical, grounded approach to action. For a franchise built around a character literally billed as the most powerful man in the universe, having an actor willing to throw real punches on a rigged soundstage has clearly resonated with audiences looking for authenticity in their blockbusters.

Whether more unseen training footage or deleted stunt sequences eventually surface remains to be seen, but for now this latest clip has given fans another reason to appreciate the work that went into building Eternia’s hero from the ground up.
