First Look at Aliens in Steven Spielberg’s ‘Disclosure Day’ Drops in Final Trailer
Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day is getting closer to its release, and the final trailer has now arrived as part of Universal’s last push before tickets go on sale. The film is one of the biggest releases of the summer, arriving just ahead of major titles like Toy Story 5, The Odyssey, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. With anticipation building, the studio has shifted its marketing focus toward mystery and tone rather than giving away story details.
The new trailer stands out because it is not just a collection of film scenes. Instead, it mixes short clips from the movie with behind-the-scenes moments. Spielberg himself appears throughout the trailer, talking about how his view of alien life has changed since his earlier work on Close Encounters of the Third Kind. His reflections are used to guide the tone of the preview, giving it a more personal feel than a typical blockbuster trailer.
The film follows a story centered on the possibility of alien contact and the way governments, corporations, and individuals respond to it. Emily Blunt leads the cast as Margaret Fairchild, a Kansas City meteorologist and former journalist who gets pulled into a growing global mystery. Josh O’Connor plays Daniel Kellner, a young cybersecurity expert who becomes a key whistleblower. Other major roles include Colin Firth as a powerful corporate leader, Eve Hewson as Daniel’s partner, and Colman Domingo as a defector pushing for truth.
According to production details shared during development, the project began forming in 2024 when Spielberg developed an original UFO story idea. Screenwriter David Koepp worked on multiple drafts before the final version was locked in. Casting followed shortly after, with Emily Blunt confirmed as the lead, and the rest of the ensemble joining over several months.
Filming took place in early 2025 across locations in New York, New Jersey, and Atlanta under the working title Non-View. Production wrapped later that spring, with Spielberg and his team moving quickly into post-production. John Williams, a long-time collaborator of Spielberg, was later confirmed to be composing the score, continuing their decades-long partnership.
The final trailer also confirms that tickets for Disclosure Day are now available. Universal is positioning the film as a major IMAX release, highlighting its scale and cinematic presentation. While the marketing has avoided revealing key plot points, the tone suggests a mix of science fiction spectacle and grounded human drama.
Disclosure Day is scheduled to arrive in U.S. theaters on June 12.
