The LEGO Group has revealed a massive new set celebrating The Lord of the Rings 25th anniversary, and it is already getting attention for both its size and its price.

The set is called LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith™ and it recreates the famous White City of Gondor in huge detail. According to an official announcement from the LEGO Group in Billund, Denmark, the model is made from 8,278 pieces and is aimed at adult builders and collectors. It is designed to capture the scale and look of Minas Tirith as seen in the film trilogy.

The build mixes two styles in one. From far away, it shows a full microscale version of the city with its tall walls and layered structure. Up close, it also includes detailed minifigure-scale rooms inside key areas like the citadel and throne room. These spaces are meant to recreate important moments from the story in a more interactive way.

The set includes 10 minifigures and the horse Shadowfax. Characters featured are Gandalf the White, Aragorn as King Elessar, Arwen, Faramir, Denethor, Peregrin Took, and four Soldiers of Gondor. It also comes with themed accessories like helmets, shields, and Aragorn’s crown.

LEGO also confirmed the release details. Early access for LEGO Insiders starts on 1 June, while general release is on 4 June. The price is set at £579.99 / €649.99 / $649.99, which has already surprised many fans online due to how expensive it is.

There will also be a limited-time bonus offer. Customers who buy the set between 1 and 7 June 2026 will receive a free LEGO Icons Grond set, which recreates the battering ram used during the Siege of Minas Tirith. This bonus set is only available while supplies last.

The LEGO Group described the set as part of its celebration of 25 years of The Lord of the Rings, in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products.
