Gabriel Luna Says Fans Still Celebrate His Ghost Rider: “It Makes Me Happy, I’m Proud”

Gabriel Luna still feels the love from Marvel fans for his role as Robbie Reyes, aka Ghost Rider. Even though it’s been years since he first appeared as the flaming anti-hero in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., people haven’t forgotten him.
While attending a recent Ballerina event, Luna spoke about how fans still recognize him and call out the name of the character. It clearly means a lot to him. “I just walked past throngs of people over there and there’s several calls of Robbie Reyes and Ghost Rider… it just makes me happy, I’m proud,” he said.
Luna first brought Robbie Reyes to life in the fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. back in 2016. His take on Ghost Rider gave fans something different from the original Johnny Blaze version seen in the older films.
Robbie drove a black muscle car instead of a motorcycle, like in the comics, and his story was more grounded and personal, tied closely to his younger brother and his struggle with vengeance.
Fans responded strongly to Luna’s version of Ghost Rider, and for a while, Marvel even planned to give him his own spinoff show on Hulu. That project was eventually canceled, but the excitement around his performance never really went away.
Over the years, there’s been plenty of talk online about Luna returning to the MCU in some way, especially now that Marvel is leaning further into multiverse stories and revisiting characters from older shows.
But nothing official has been announced yet. Still, Luna remains proud of the role and the impact it had. He seems genuinely touched by the fans who still remember and appreciate what he brought to the character.
